Draymond Green, Steve Kerr Comment on Warriors' Pursuit of Bulls' Wins Record
At 68-7, the Golden State Warriors have one thing left to play for in the regular season: the NBA's all-time record for wins.
Stephen Curry and the Warriors have already wrapped up the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference and set their franchise record for wins with a victory over the Utah Jazz on Wednesday.
However, instead of resting up for a long playoff run, the team is out to prove it is the best of all time. Forward Draymond Green didn't mince words when talking about the record, per the Associated Press (via Pro Basketball Talk).

Draymond: Kerr 'Hindered' My Career

“It is something we want to do,” Green said. “We’ve spoken on this. It is no secret.”
The Warriors have to go 5-2 over the rest of the season to break the 72-win record the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls set. While other top teams such as the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder are resting their starters, Golden State head coach Steve Kerr is doing the opposite.
Curry played 42 minutes in the overtime win against the Jazz (the most he's played since Dec. 11), Green was on the court for 43 minutes, and shooting guard Klay Thompson played 39.
Kerr said the record is important to the team, per the AP:
"Our team wants it. They’ve made it pretty clear, so what we’re doing is listening to them and trusting them that if they’re injured, they’re going to let us know. And if that’s the case, we’ll give them a rest. And if they feel like they’re perfectly capable of getting out there and playing and that’s what they want to do, then that’s what we’ll do.
"
Thompson weighed in as well, per the AP:
"We realize we can make history and that helps because it keeps you focused every game. You don’t want to lose and get this far and not go for it. We have a young youthful team and a great mix of vets that know how to pace themselves. We put a lot on the young guys’ shoulders and go out there and perform every night and that’s great. We are 26 and younger so we can do it right now and give our vets a rest.
"
Mike Greenberg of ESPN Radio seemed to be fine with the Warriors going for the record because, after all, team sports are about winning:
At this point, it would seem odd for the Warriors not to go for the record. As Greenberg noted, another championship combined with the record would put the team among the best to ever play the game.
The Warriors got their title last season; now they're going for it all.
