Panthers vs. Broncos Betting Props: Manning Retirement Odds Super Bowl 50

OddsShark.comFeb 5, 2016

Many NFL experts, fans and bettors alike believe quarterback Peyton Manning will retire after his Denver Broncos face the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 on Sunday regardless of the outcome.

But did you know you can actually wager on whether Manning will announce his retirement in the postgame interview on the Super Bowl 50 props boards at sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark?

It’s true—a bet on "yes" is worth plus-500 (bet $100 to win $500), while selecting "no" requires paying a steep price of minus-1000 (bet $1,000 to win $100). You can also get the same odds on Manning crying at any point during the television broadcast.

Those could be tears of joy, though, after the Broncos win Super Bowl 50 or tears of disappointment following another costly pick-six that helps the Panthers capture their first NFL title.

Of course, you can wager on Manning throwing a pick-six as well, with "yes" at plus-300 and "no" at minus-500. Manning has not thrown an interception since returning to action in Week 17, although the odds are favorable that he will have one or more at minus-225.

What about Manning’s counterpart, Carolina’s Cam Newton? There are plenty of props available involving him as well, including the possibility of his breaking Steve McNair’s Super Bowl rushing record.

The odds are against Newton totaling more than 64 yards on the ground, with "no" at minus-400 and "yes" plus-250. However, the odds are favorable that the Panthers will rush for 100 yards or more as a team for the 32nd straight game, with "yes" at minus-500 and "no" at plus-300.

And how many times will Newton do the Open Shirt Superman motion after a big play in Super Bowl 50? The over/under has been set at 2.5 times with "under" favored at minus-300 and "over" at plus-200. The possibilities are almost endless.

For viewers hanging on every word during the broadcast, you can also bet on how many times Peyton’s father Archie will be shown (over/under 1.5) and how many times former Denver quarterback and current general manager John Elway will be shown (over/under 2.5).

Or which coach will be mentioned first after kickoff (Ron Rivera and Gary Kubiak are both listed at minus-120), and whether or not the announcers will mention that Kubiak was Elway’s backup ("yes" is favored at minus-200 with "no" at plus-150).
