Real Madrid Transfer News: Robert Lewandowski Targeted by PSG, Latest Rumours
Real Madrid face staunch competition for the signature of Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski after reports suggested that Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to pay up to €100 million for the Poland international.
According to the French daily L'Equipe (h/t AS.com), the Ligue 1 champions are convinced the Bundesliga marksman is "the best replacement" for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is due to depart the Parc des Princes.
Lewandowski is yet to agree a new deal with Bayern and could be allowed to leave if a substantial offer is made.

However, Madrid and PSG are not the only elite clubs to desire the striker, as Manchester United also monitor Lewandowski's intentions, per Sport Bild in Germany (h/t AS.com). The player appears keen to flirt with the Parisian club, telling German newspaper Telefoot: "I'm very flattered by the interest of Paris Saint-Germain."
Rumours have recently been increasing about the 27-year-old’s long-term future at the Allianz Arena, and Bayern Munich president Franz Beckenbauer revealed that Lewandowski is on the radar of the Galacticos. “Robert Lewandowski has been mentioned as a possible candidate for Real Madrid,” he said, per Telegraph Sport.

Despite the reports linking him with an exit from Bayern, the player recently hinted he is content at the iconic club, per Sport Bild (h/t Alex Chaffer of FourFourTwo):
Here is a video displaying the player's predatory reputation:
Real will have a desire to rebuild after the appointment of new coach Zinedine Zidane, but their forthcoming registration ban imposed by FIFA—which will severely hinder their ability to sign world-class players—could be the obstacle that stops a transfer for Lewandowski in its tracks.
PSG are a hugely wealthy club, and there will be a level of status and kudos attached to the purchase of a player such as Lewandowski.
The Pole is arguably the best No. 9 in the world, and his signing would more than soften the blow of Ibrahimovic leaving the Parisians.
Madrid are not short of goals under Zidane's new regime, scoring freely as they recover their mandate to attack.
However, the loss of a potential new Galactico to a UEFA Champions League rival would be a bitter pill for president Florentino Perez to swallow—especially if Cristiano Ronaldo decides to suddenly depart the club, as reported by the Telegraph's Matt Law.
