WWE Raw Results: Biggest Winners, Losers and Moments from January 11

Erik BeastonJan 12, 2016

From the moment he delivered Salida del Sol from the top of one ladder, driving Jey Uso through another, Kalisto has been on a meteoric rise.

On Monday night, it culminated with a clean victory over Alberto Del Rio that not only earned him the United States Championship, but also the status of biggest winner from the January 11 episode of Raw.

After a year spent primarily working tag team matches, Kalisto capitalized on an unfortunate shoulder dislocation suffered by partner Sin Cara a few weeks back to embark on a singles run that has paid off tremendously for the young star.

Not only did he score a clean pinfall victory to win the title, but he did so by beating a Del Rio who has been fairly protected since returning in October.

The crowd was electric for the title change, and Kalisto's peers congratulated him on social media, proving how much respect the high-flying star has in the locker room:

It remains to be seen exactly how serious the company is about pushing him, but the fact that he went over Del Rio cleanly and without any sort of shenanigans suggests that WWE Creative sees something in him that it can use to make him a star not unlike Rey Mysterio was for the company during the 2000s.

Kalisto was not the only winner coming out of this past Monday's broadcast. There were others, as well as losers, for that matter. Which of your favorite Superstars ended up on which side of the equation?

Find out now with these biggest winners and losers from the January 11 episode of Raw.

Winner: Brock Lesnar

The Beast Incarnate returned to Raw Monday night and wasted no time establishing himself as the opposite of the corporate puppet Vince and Stephanie McMahon almost certainly hoped he would be. He bulldozed the villains beating down Roman Reigns, then finished the WWE world heavyweight champion off with an F5, bringing the broadcast to an end.

It was a glorious bit of booking, one that established Lesnar as the type of "shades of gray" character fans have not seen on Monday nights in quite some time. Lesnar is neither a traditional heel nor a smiling babyface. He is an ass-kicker, a champion, and WWE Creative did a phenomenal job of booking him as such Monday night.

Over the course of the next few weeks, it should be interesting to see exactly how Lesnar interacts with the McMahon family. He did not assist the other heels in beating down Reigns, but he also shot an death glare at Vince and Stephanie before putting the titleholder down with his finisher.

Will he do the bidding of the most powerful duo in wrestling, or will he continue to be his own man, concerned only with himself and capturing the title he never really lost? All signs point to the latter.

Loser: Sheamus

Remember a week ago, when The Celtic Warrior was still a credible challenger for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, a top heel and the leader of The League of Nations?

This week, he was firmly entrenched in the midcard, working Dean Ambrose in the opening match of the night. That is not why he earned "loser" status for Monday's show, though. Instead, Sheamus' fall can be traced to what happened after the bell.

There he was, the top dog in WWE only a month ago, shoved to the background of a rivalry between Ambrose and Kevin Owens.

Later in the night, he unleashed a flurry of stiff forearms about the body of Brock Lesnar but was instantly and not-so-lightly thrown across the squared circle by The Beast Incarnate, as if he was a rag doll that was more of an inconvenience to the former WWE and UFC champion than anything.

Sheamus is certainly in an unenviable position at this point, neither a full-fledged midcard star nor a legitimate contender to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Instead, he is just there, lost in the shuffle as WWE Creative struggles to tell stories with a depleted roster.

Winner: Sting

For the first time since the legendary WCW star appeared with WWE, it felt like he was being treated with the respect and dignity someone of his stature deserves.

After WWE Creative failed him twice in two high-profile rivalries in 2015, the company's creative staff came through as it typically does, producing a classy tribute to a star whose place in the history of the industry cannot be denied.

Sting deserves his Hall of Fame induction, has earned the headline spot in this year's class and will provide fans with a speech and moment that will live forever in the annals of the ceremony.

The Stinger may have been failed by management countless times over the last year, including a WrestleMania loss that should have never happened. Now, one year later, he will take his place among the immortals as one of the greatest Hall of Fame inductees.
