Damontre Moore Comments on Altercation with Cullen Jenkins over Headphones
Damontre Moore has spoken out about the fight with his now former New York Giants teammate Cullen Jenkins that led to the former Texas A&M star getting released on Friday.
During a radio interview with ESPN Radio New York on Saturday, per James Kratch of NJ.com, Moore took responsibility for the altercation.
"I definitely could have handled it better by just obviously walking away," Moore said. He added later in the interview that there was ""no animosity, no ill feelings" toward Jenkins over what happened.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
He continued:
"I understand also, this just happened 24 hours (ago). And they're getting ready for a really important Monday night game that is a must-win, and they're fighting for a playoff spot. So I'm not expecting him to reach out to me right now. Things happen. If I just got into it with somebody, I wouldn't hit them up immediately right afterwards, trying to be buddy-buddy with them, especially if I have other things on the line. We all know what's at stake for them.
"
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Moore and Jenkins were involved in a fight because he did not get a free pair of Beats By Dre headphones like other players on the team.
However, Moore added the issue with Jenkins was not specifically about headphones.
"Yeah, it was more of a respect thing," Moore said. "It was, you know, a combination of things that build up over time. And the way the situation fully just unfolded and evolved, I just felt like, as a teammate and a brother, things should have been handled a certain way."
Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports added "it was also an accumulation of incidents" that led to the Giants releasing Moore.
Moore did say that Giants players like Jason Pierre-Paul and Odell Beckham Jr. have reached out to him since the team decided to cut ties with him.
The 23-year-old Moore was a third-round pick in 2013. He has appeared in 11 of the Giants' 12 games this season and is tied for second on the team with three sacks.
He doesn't immediately know what will happen to him and whether another team will come calling, but he said he will "be waiting on them" if it happens.
Given Moore's age and flashes as a pass-rusher, it would be a surprise if he didn't get another shot. It may be too late for something to happen this season, but 2016 will provide opportunities for young defensive ends.
By Moore's own admission, he has some growing up to do and needs to take "things a little more serious."
As long as he can take this experience, learn from it and move on, it will make him a better person and teammate when that phone call comes.
