Gruden Comments on Paea's Playing Status
Tuesday, Dec. 8
Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said Paea would be sidelined at least one or two weeks with the injury, per Anthony Gulizia of the Washington Times.
Paea Injury Hurts Depth of Washington's Defensive Line
Paea has started one of the 10 games he's played this year, registering 19 tackles and 2.5 sacks prior to the Dallas contest. He did not have a tackle on Monday before suffering the injury.
The 27-year-old has provided solid depth for the defensive line in his first year with Washington. If the injury lingers, it could be a problem for a Redskins team that already struggles against the run, allowing 126.6 yards per game on the ground heading into Week 14.
He has also been decent at getting to the quarterback during his career, registering 14.5 sacks in 65 games.
Seven-year veteran Ricky Jean-Francois could see extra action in Paea's absence.
