Bill Davis Comments on Chip Kelly's Future with Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles have fallen on some hard times after losing three-straight games. Despite their 4-7 record and third-place standing in a very weak NFC East, Eagles defensive coordinator Bill Davis remains confident head coach Chip Kelly's job is not in jeopardy, as he spoke with NJ.com's Eliot Shorr-Parks.
"Chip isn't going anywhere," Davis said. "Nope. I promise you that."
While Davis has confidence in Kelly's return, his own might not be so certain. In the past two games, his defense has allowed 45 points to both the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Detroit Lions.

But Davis is seeing a confidence from Kelly and an unwavering commitment to the team during such struggles.
"Not kind of committed. All-in committed. I know it," Davis said. "He is a fighter. He don't run. You see the way he acts day-by-day. No change in Chip. He is a fighter."
Kelly is in his third season with the Eagles, leading them to a pair of 10-6 seasons and one playoff berth before this 2015 slump.
Davis' comments come just days after an Eagles player's agent told Matt Lombardo of NJ.com that Kelly has "lost the team".
"Between the losses and his bull[bleep] methods that aren't working, I can tell you that the players have tuned him out," the agent told Lombardo.
Kelly, though, expressed confidence in his team after its Thanksgiving loss to the Lions, via ESPN.com: "I have confidence in those players. I've seen them play before. I have a lot of confidence in those guys. I think we have some really good guys. ... I told those guys in the locker room that I have confidence in them."
The only way Kelly is going to be able to silence the doubters about the team's locker room or his job status is to go out and win games on the gridiron. No words are going to save his job if the Eagles continue on the path they are on.
With five games to go, he does have time. However, his first chance to turn things around will be against the New England Patriots on December 6. Another blowout loss at the hands of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick is not going to help Kelly's case, regardless of how much confidence his defensive coordinator shows in him.
