Leonard Comments on Injury

Wednesday, Nov. 11

Leonard said he's not sure how long he'll be out and he'll be re-evaluated on Thursday, per Freeman. The forward said his shoulder was "pretty stiff and sore," but he is hoping to "heal quick," per Freeman.

How Leonard's Absence Impacts Trail Blazers

Losing Leonard for any amount of time hurts. Not only is the 23-year-old eating up minutes as a starter for the retooled Blazers, but the team also needs his versatility up front alongside the offensively challenged Mason Plumlee.

A stretch 4 who shot better than 50 percent from the field and 40 percent from three last season, Leonard boasts a diverse skill set that is among the league's most unique given his 7'1'' frame.

Entering Nov. 11, the Blazers were 3.4 points better per 100 offensive possessions with Leonard on the floor, according to NBA.com's stats database.

Portland now has to tinker with its starting five.

Noah Vonleh was a candidate to slide into the starting 4 slot sans Leonard, however, Al-Farouq Aminu has been starting in his place with Vonleh coming off the bench.
