Tim Hightower to Saints: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction
The New Orleans Saints are poised to sign veteran running back Tim Hightower, who hasn't appeared in an NFL game since the 2011 season, according to reports from Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Advocate and Evan Woodbery of NOLA.com.
Hightower, 29, rushed for 2,054 yards and 24 touchdowns in his first four seasons in the league with the Arizona Cardinals and Washington. But he tore his ACL while playing for Washington in the 2011 season, and doctors discovered an infection in 2013 that stunted his recovery from the injury.
He was with New Orleans during training camp, but the team cut him twice in September.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
With Khiry Robinson out for the season with a fractured tibia, per Kevin Patra of NFL.com, the Saints are bringing Hightower back aboard to provide depth behind Mark Ingram and C.J. Spiller at the position, while rookie Marcus Murphy is also an option.
Hightower will likely see the field sparingly, however, with Ingram likely to shoulder an even larger load at the position in Robinson's stead.
