Chelsea vs. Liverpool: Jose Mourinho Talks Form, Eva Carneiro, More in Presser
Chelsea play hosts to Liverpool in Saturday's early kick-off having failed to claim a win in their last three matches and with manager Jose Mourinho alleged to be teetering on the end of his second Blues tenure.
The Blues' staggering loss of form this season is difficult to explain, but Mourinho gave a diversionary response when asked to do so in his pre-match press conference on Friday, according to the Mirror's Adrian Kajumba:
"If you read the papers you will know the reasons because every day it comes. My view is not important because the way you write is clearly the truth so there is no room for discussion. The truth is the truth. I think Chelsea is a big club, is the club that I chose to come to.
It is the club that I live in a very specific way in the life of this club but with all the respect Liverpool is a big club, Manchester United is a super big club.
Last season Liverpool win nothing and didn’t qualify for Champions League and they are still a big club and two years ago Manchester United didn’t even qualify for the Champions League, or Europa League and they are still a monster club.

There's no faulting Mourinho's commitment to the Chelsea cause, but there comes a time when even The Special One must be held accountable for his mistakes, and this season has shown many thus far.
Mourinho was short in providing answers to the questions given the circumstances, adding he "cannot promise" Champions League qualification, but when asked about the Eva Carneiro controversy, a press officer stepped into say: “I’m not aware we have received any paperwork so we will keep to our stance that it is an internal staffing matter."
That response came after Friday's revelation that axed Chelsea team doctor Carneiro intended to sue the club with a constructive dismissal claim, per the Press Association (h/t BBC Sport).

The impending tribunal serves as but another distraction for a club currently going though their worst patch of form ever under Mourinho, with no sign of their misfortune coming to an end just yet.
Chelsea have won just one of their last seven games and welcome Liverpool to Stamford Bridge on Saturday after being knocked out of the Capital One Cup by Stoke City on penalties earlier this week.
There is further controversy afoot in west London after Mourinho appealed the £50,000 fine and one-match suspended stadium ban handed to him in relation to comments made following a 2-2 draw against Southampton.
The Press Association's Matt McGeechan quoted Mourinho, who appeared nonplussed about the situation:
A win over the Reds could provide the jump-start Chelsea need and would bring the 15th-place Blues level on points with Liverpool, who are seeking their first Premier League win under new boss Jurgen Klopp.
Meeting Klopp for the first time under league conditions doesn't faze the Chelsea helmsman, though, as he asserted they've merely swapped one "very good manager" for another, according to Bet365:
When asked if he'd been in contact with club owner Roman Abramovich, Mourinho's shield came up as he insisted he's under no obligation to reveal anything in that regard, per Kajumba.
Whether there has been direct word from the board or not, Mourinho is aware of the pressure placed upon him to ensure his side beat Liverpool on Saturday, with plenty of distractions currently clouding his vision.
