WWE Hell in a Cell 2015 Results: Biggest Winners and Losers from Marquee Event

Erik BeastonOct 26, 2015

Hell in a Cell 2015 has come and gone, and in its wake are a handful of winners and losers who are either better or worse off than they were prior to the show.

Bray Wyatt and Roman Reigns brought their heated rivalry to a close inside Hell in a Cell, but despite one of them having to lose, both emerged from Sunday's show as the biggest winners of the night.

The Dudley Boyz squared off to face The New Day but failed for the second month in a row to capture the tag titles. And then there was Kevin Owens, whose lackluster intercontinental title reign was weakened even further by a mediocre match with Ryback.

Then there was Nikki Bella, who unsuccessfully challenged Charlotte for the WWE Divas Championship but delivered another very strong performance to earn herself a place among the night's winners.

Why do the above Superstars make this edition of Biggest Winners and Losers? Click through to find out.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

1 of 5

The Reaper of Souls may have lost his Hell in a Cell match to Roman Reigns early in Sunday's pay-per-view but by attacking The Undertaker and leading his abduction to close out the show, he remained relevant and topical, which in today's WWE is of the utmost importance.

The New Face of Fear turned in another strong performance, working a stiff and high-impact bout against Reigns. The intensity shown in the contest helped it evolve past the "little cousin of Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar" to become a legitimate show-stealer.

Moreover, the rejuvenation of his feud with Undertaker keeps him in the spotlight, in a high-profile feud that will likely result in a main event bout against the most respected star in WWE history.

Could he have used a victory to really bolster his legitimacy?

Of course.

But Wyatt recovered nicely by night's end and is the hottest star to watch on Monday's Raw.

Losers: The Dudley Boyz

2 of 5

The Dudley Boyz arrived on the scene the night after SummerSlam and created a buzz about the WWE product that lasted all of a week.

Since then, they have been overshadowed by their rivals, The New Day, which has proved more interesting and entertaining than the brothers from Dudleyville.

Bubba Ray and D-Von have done nothing to bring their once-successful gimmick into the 21st century, instead hoping that nostalgia will fuel interest.

Sunday night, they were incredibly bland as they squared off against a New Day team of Kofi Kingston and Big E that was dynamic and interesting. From the humorous unicorn references to the use of the trombone to honor their fallen comrade Xavier Woods, the elements of the New Day's performance far overshadowed the one-note showing by the Dudleys, whose work has remained unchanged for the last two decades.

Their loss did not help matters, as they now look like babyfaces who continue to fall for the same chicanery at the hands of their opponents.

Winner: Nikki Bella

3 of 5

For all of the negativity hurled at her by fans and the accusations that surrounded her rise to the top of the industry, Nikki Bella once again delivered a strong performance on pay-per-view that resulted in an above-average match.

In fact, she was the star of the bout, breaking out a single-leg Boston crab that furthered her work on the back of Charlotte. She was crisp in her strikes and looked motivated to prove that while she may not be champion, the quality of her performances would not dip.

She was the best wrestler in the ring during the Divas Championship bout but is unlikely to receive the credit she deserves.

Not that it matters. As long as she continues to deliver this level of performance, she can rest peacefully, knowing she did her job.

Loser: Kevin Owens

4 of 5

The Kevin Owens of today is in stark contrast to the wildly entertaining, unique heel persona he debuted over the summer. Gone is the edge and any motivations he had for his actions. He has become a watered-down, poor excuse for a villain, like so many others on the main roster.

Now we can couple that with a four-minute sprint of a match on Sunday night that failed to inspire fans to invest themselves in the action or the idea that the Intercontinental Championship is somehow more credible around the waist of the former Ring of Honor and NXT titleholder.

No Superstar has cooled off quite as much as Owens has since July, and his lackluster showing Sunday night, though not completely his fault, did not help matters.

There is still time to rebuild the character to its previous heights, but all evidence to this point suggests that it may not be easy.

Winner: Roman Reigns

5 of 5

Roman Reigns has spent 2015 delivering show-stealing performances against a variety of opponents in a number of different settings and scenarios.

On Sunday night, he continued that pattern with a brutal and hard-hitting Hell in a Cell match against Bray Wyatt that not only brought their vendetta to a fitting close but also positioned himself for an imminent WWE World Heavyweight Championship opportunity.

There is a smoothness about Reigns' performances that sets him apart from the other Superstars, one which was on full display during the reversal spot that saw him powerbomb Wyatt out of the corner and through a table.

The spear through the table was as dangerous as it was awe-inspiring but was executed to perfection by the second-generation star, who has never shied away from taking the big risk and putting his body in harm's way to deliver a spot befitting an epic battle.

On a night when the spotlight was shining on part-time talent like Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker, it was Reigns who again stood head and shoulders above his peers, a performer clearly ready to take the next big step toward immortality.
