Thomas Having Trouble Shaking Injury Bug
It's been a short 2015 season for Thomas, who missed the first four games with a broken finger.
Once he got on the field, he proved to be a big target for young quarterback Blake Bortles, who has been void of trusty receivers in his short time in the NFL. His regular-season debut was highly anticipated, as the Jaguars show:
Once again, though, Thomas ran into injury trouble with a bruised rib that had him questionable for Week 7 against Buffalo. He did end up playing, but he had just one catch for four yards in a 34-31 victory.
The 27-year-old inked a five-year deal with the Jaguars in the offseason after four seasons with the Denver Broncos where he made a name for himself as a touchdown machine. In each of the last two seasons, he recorded 12 touchdowns.
Fortunately for Thomas and the Jaguars, he had plenty of time to recover due to the bye week following the long journey to London last week.
Marcedes Lewis and Clay Harbor could split the first-team reps if Thomas misses more time this season. That duo has combined for 15 catches, 135 yards and one touchdown this season.
