Barcelona Transfer News: Ezequiel Lavezzi Rumoured to Have Agreed PSG Exit
Paris Saint-Germain forward Ezequiel Lavezzi has reportedly "reached an agreement to join" Barcelona next summer.
According to Sport, the news comes from La Gazzetta dello Sport, with its report noting that Lavezzi will be out of contract at the end of the season and could be set to earn a staggering €4 million a year with Barca.
The Catalan giants are currently searching for a replacement for Pedro after the forward swapped the Camp Nou for Stamford Bridge.

Lavezzi would make an experienced replacement for the Spaniard, but he would not be as incisive a contributor in the final third.

The Argentinian's record of nine goals and seven assists in all competitions last season was respectable, but at a club like PSG, those figures should be perhaps slightly higher.
While Pedro himself registered nine assists and just two more goals, he was largely used as a substitute, providing cover for Barca's inimitable front three.
Indeed, Lavezzi hasn't reached more than 12 goals in a season once since he turned out for Estudiantes in 2003-04. WhoScored.com revealed that, unsurprisingly, his biggest weakness is his finishing:
French football journalist Jonathan Johnson believes the 30-year-old to be a hard worker but not a particularly effective player otherwise:
Barcelona's need for a workhorse will be met in January when summer signing Arda Turan will finally be free to take the field, so the club will likely be looking for a player who is more capable of having a significant impact in place of Luis Suarez, Neymar or Lionel Messi.
Further, per Marca's Xavi Hernandez, Barcelona technical director Robert Fernandez recently said, "Our wage bill is something we have to take into consideration."
That being the case, the reported wages they could be set to spend on Lavezzi would be better spent on a younger and more incisive forward.
A free transfer represents a relatively low risk to the club, but they're likely to turn to Lavezzi only if all other avenues for a Pedro replacement are exhausted.
