Liverpool Transfer News: Claudio Marchisio, Giuseppe Marotta Discuss Reds Offer
Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta believes Claudio Marchisio will remain in Turin for the rest of his career after admitting Liverpool and others have made a bid for the Bianconeri star.
According to Marc Williams of the Daily Star, CalcioMercato quoted Marotta as saying:
"We get so many offers for our players, but we are used to buying not selling. Not only Liverpool, we have received several offers.
We have renewed with him, we focus strongly on Claudio and I believe that his first thought is [I will] finish my career here.

The player himself confirmed Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is an admirer, but reiterated Marotta's sentiment. Per Adam Skinner of the Express, he said: "Klopp is crazy about me and wants me to Liverpool? I do not care, I just signed a contract with Juventus."
Marchisio signed a contract extension to 2020 in July, designed to keep the Italy international with Juve—his only club since joining at the age of seven, aside from a loan spell at Empoli in his youth—until he is 34.
The classy midfielder would be a strong addition for many sides, particularly Liverpool following Steven Gerrard's departure for the LA Galaxy in MLS.

While Marchisio isn't quite of the same mould as the Reds' former talisman—he isn't known for his ability to play the Hollywood pass or to turn a game on its head with a screamer from outside the area—he's undoubtedly one of the most dynamic and hard-working all-rounders in the game.
Along with Arturo Vidal, Marchisio's work ethic in central midfield helped prolong Andrea Pirlo's top-level career by easing the toll on his ageing legs and allowing the veteran to shine.
Football journalist and broadcaster Mina Rzouki praised his impressive movement:
His drives forward saw him rack up 10 assists in all competitions last season, demonstrating his talents as more than just a workhorse.
Having been at the club since 1993, the 29-year-old virtually bleeds black and white, so Marotta is almost certainly correct in his assertion that Marchisio will likely finish his career with Juve.
The midfielder isn't likely to abandon a team that has just lost Pirlo and Vidal after signing a lengthy new deal, particularly as Juventus currently have a much stronger chance of winning silverware consistently.
Liverpool will have to look elsewhere to fill the Gerrard-shaped hole in their team, and besides, they'll most likely turn to someone far younger than a player who will be 30 in January.
