Danny Ings Injury: Updates on Liverpool Star's Knee and Return
Liverpool's Danny Ings was initially ruled out for the rest of the 2015-16 campaign after it was revealed on Oct. 15 he had ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in training.
However, the striker has been given fresh hope of a return this season as he prepares to undergo surgery.

Ings Receives Euro 2016 Boost; Striker Positive Ahead of Tuesday Operation

"Initial fears were that the problem could keep him out of action for up to nine months, ruling him out of the rest of this season as well as next summer's European Championships," explained Neil Jones of the Liverpool Echo.
"Ings, though, is targeting a swifter return. The injury is what is known by professionals as a 'clean' tear, with the rest of the ligaments and muscles around his left knee unaffected by the issue in his cruciate ligament," he continued.
Jones added the picture will become clearer following a Tuesday operation, but the Liverpool man "has been able to walk virtually untroubled since suffering the injury."
On Saturday, Ings told Sam Wallace of the Telegraph he hopes the isolated nature of the injury will "shorten the timescale when I return."
Klopp Left to Deal with Injury Crisis
As alluded to by the Times' Tony Barrett, Ings was the second Liverpool player in a week to be struck by the "ACL curse" after Joe Gomez suffered a similar injury playing for England’s under-21 side.
It is a big blow for newly installed manager Jurgen Klopp, as Ings had been in goalscoring form prior to the setback, scoring against Everton in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.
Fellow strikers Christian Benteke and Daniel Sturridge have also been nursing injuries, so Klopp will hope they can make swift recoveries in order to provide support for Divock Origi up front.
