Manchester United Transfer News: David De Gea Coy over Contract Release Clause
Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has once again cast doubt over his future, refusing to deny he has a release clause in his newly signed deal with the Old Trafford giants.
The stopper was in fine fettle for Spain as they beat Ukraine 1-0 in Kiev on Monday, but DDG sidestepped questions about his contractual arrangements with manager Louis van Gaal's team, saying to the press, per Ed Malyon of the Mirror: "You should ask Jorge [Mendes, De Gea's agent] that question. He is the one who pays attention to those sort of details."
The refusal to deny a buy-out clause will concern United supporters, who suffered the stress of watching the Spaniard's move to Real Madrid collapse at the final hurdle in the summer transfer window.

It was reported in the Sun (h/t Malyon) that De Gea has a £30 million release clause in his new deal—a figure Los Blancos will not struggle to pay if the goalkeeper's exceptional form continues for club and country.
De Gea made several amazing saves for Spain in their 1-0 win in the Ukrainian capital, showing his fellow countrymen he is one of the best No. 1s in the world at present.
Stuart Mathieson of the Manchester Evening News cited Spain midfielder Thiago Alcantara leading the plaudits for his team-mate, proclaiming: “The word sensational doesn’t do David’s performance justice. He was magnificent and saved everything that came his way.”

However, the player only has one clean sheet to his name since returning to LvG's starting XI, shipping six goals in four Premier League matches, per Squawka.com.
But the goalkeeper's class is undoubted, and his all-round game has been as good as ever as United temporarily took top spot in the league table, and started a new Champions League journey after failing to qualify for Europe's elite competition last term.
De Gea's United team-mate Victor Valdes could finally be on his way from the north-west after being frozen out of the first-team squad by Van Gaal.
Ed Malyon of the Mirror wrote the former Barcelona hero is lining up a switch to Newcastle United, after the Magpies lost Tim Krul to injury, ruling him out for the remainder of the campaign.

The next few months are pivotal for the Red Devils, as they attempt to show their much-lauded goalkeeper their ambitions match his lofty expectations.
De Gea will almost definitely find his way to the Bernabeu before the end of his new deal at United, but a strong showing in the Premier League and Europe will motivate the Spaniard to extend his stay.
Los Blancos are in transition at present under new manager Rafael Benitez, and the popularity of their current 'keeper Keylor Navas will be an obstacle in any move for the Spain No. 1, with Madrid fans firmly behind their Costa Rica stopper.
