Memphis Depay Reportedly Given 'Dressing Down' by Ryan Giggs over Lifestyle
Manchester United winger Memphis Depay has struggled adapting to the Premier League since joining the Red Devils in the summer. Club legend and assistant manager Ryan Giggs has reportedly given the youngster a stern "dressing down" regarding his flamboyant lifestyle as a result, according to Steve Bates of the Daily Mirror.
The 21-year-old, who failed to make an impact in the recent 3-0 loss against Arsenal and was substituted at half-time, is regularly spotted and photographed away from the club, and Giggs would like that to change:
"The winger, who arrived in Manchester with a big reputation, has scored only once in eight Premier League games. It’s believed Giggs would like Depay to adopt a lower profile while he gets to grips with English football.
An insider told Sunday People Sport: 'Memphis is photographed out and about more than other players and that’s not gone unnoticed.
'He’s been told to keep his head down a bit while his football catches up with the rest of his profile.'

Memphis' United career started promisingly when the youngster flashed his potential with two superb goals against Club Brugge in the Champions League play-offs, but he's been kept very quiet on the pitch since then.
Off the pitch, it's been a different story. He's already boycotting the Dutch media, per the Daily Mirror and Sport Witness:
Meanwhile, he's already becoming a favourite of gossip websites, with TMZ Sports noting he seems to be spending an awful lot of time with Karrueche Tran, an ex-girlfriend of hip-hop artist Chris Brown.
Things fortunately haven't been that bad in England, where most of the focus has been on his inconsistent form and struggles to adapt to the Premier League.
Memphis was a scoring machine with PSV in 2014-15, as he netted 22 goals in 30 Eredivisie starts, per WhoScored.com. United felt confident spending £25 million on the Dutchman given his obvious potential, but since making the move, he seems to have lost the creative touch that made him such an intriguing prospect.
The player himself admitted his body is still getting used to the busy schedule United face, per the Manchester Evening News' Tom Marshall-Bailey: “There are a lot of games in Manchester. There are very few rest days and on training days you are mainly concerned with recovering. It’s heavy, two games a week, always at a high level, and my body has to get used to that.”
Given his struggles on the pitch―he's scored just once in eight Premier League starts, per WhoScored.com―it's easy to see why Giggs would advise the Dutch international to keep his head down.
