
Austin Theriault Injury: Updates on NASCAR Driver's Status After Collision
Saturday night's Camping World Truck Series race was marred by an ugly wreck involving Austin Theriault, during which he collided with the outside wall in Las Vegas. Theriault was transported to University Medical Center in Las Vegas but is already traveling back to his home state of North Carolina.

Theriault Released from Hospital
Sunday, Oct. 4
"Theriault underwent a comprehensive CT scan of the upper body, which showed a 10 percent compression fracture of the lower back. Theriault was released and will travel back to North Carolina where he will follow up with an orthopedic specialist for further treatment," Brad Keselowski Racing announced (h/t Austin Theriault Racing).
The accident occurred on the 14th lap of the Rhino Linings 350 after Theriault made contact with Tyler Reddick. The No. 29 truck then hit the wall head-on, per USA Today's Jeff Gluck.

FS1 showed Theriault being loaded into an ambulance, with the 21-year-old offering a thumbs-up to the fans at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway:
According to NASCAR.com, Theriault was airlifted to a local hospital to undergo further observation to determine the extent of his injuries.
