Real Madrid Transfer News: David Beckham Wants Cristiano Ronaldo to Rejoin Reds
Real Madrid and Manchester United icon David Beckham has spoken of his desire to see Cristiano Ronaldo rejoin the Red Devils as he enters the latter years of his career.
The former England captain told talkSPORT (h/t George Bellshaw of Metro) he wants the Portuguese legend to return to his former stamping ground of Old Trafford and see out his playing career at the club that set him on the path to stardom.
However, Beckham admitted CR7 would find it "difficult" to part company with Los Blancos:

"I’d like to see him come back, as a Man United fan, obviously.
That would be great. I think he was so great at United.
He went from being a young kid being looked after by Sir Alex Ferguson and then he persuaded him to stay that extra year and that proved how much it meant to him and how successful he was there.
But he’s at Real Madrid now and I think he’s very comfortable in his life there.
To leave Real Madrid is always difficult, but to leave Man United is even more so. So we’ll see.
"

Ronaldo is on the brink of becoming Madrid's all-time leading goalscorer, with Los Blancos honouring the player before he passes Raul's total of 323, as reported by James Whaling of the Mirror.
Various Spanish outlets claim Ronaldo has already passed the milestone, accrediting a deflected effort in 2010 to the talisman, but it wont be long until the attacker gets his extra golden goal.
Madrid president Florentino Perez will not share Beckham's desire to see Ronaldo return to the Premier League, and he spoke out about 30-year-old's achievements since swapping his red shirt for white, per Stefan Coerts of Goal:
"Real Madrid are a club that aim to achieve the impossible and giants like Cristiano Ronaldo make it happen.
Cristiano, the fans at Real Madrid love and admire you. They all know how much you mean to this club.
You are a legend at the club that has won 10 European titles.
He is our all-time top goalscorer and the best player in the world.
"

Despite the goal record, and Perez's glowing words, Ronaldo recently once again failed to dedicate his long-term future to the club, being vague about his commitment beyond 2016, as quoted by Rob Dawson of the Manchester Evening News:
"My future is at Madrid. I am good here.
I want to win things here and I feel good, but I have said millions of times that nobody can tell what will happen in the future. We will see what happens.
I have a good relationship with everyone, the president, coaches, workers. The relationships are good because I am a professional.
Nobody knows what will happen next year.
I want to win things at Madrid as I think that this club has the potential to win things, but I do not know the future.
"

The rhetoric used by Ronaldo is similar to that he constantly repeated during his final year at United—and to highlight he does not know the future three times in one statement is bizarre.
CR7 is still the central entity at Real, despite the appointment of Rafael Benitez as coach, but Dawson says there are murmurings of discontent from the Ronaldo camp.
Football website Fichajes.net (h/t Will Giles of Metro) says United will table a world record £92.5 million bid next summer to bring back one of their favourite sons, with Spanish football expert Guillem Balague believing there is an exit plan ready for the player's departure, per Sky Sports La Liga:
Ronaldo's return would be a magical event for United fans, but Madrid are the most bombastic operator in the transfer market when it comes to replacing outgoing talent.
CR7 has started to pick up injuries as he ages, and Real might be unable to turn down a bid from United if it is higher than the sum they initially paid to capture him from Sir Alex Ferguson's grasp.
However, if United do not move for Ronaldo, a host of top sides will, with the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Chelsea all capable of spending ridiculous amounts on individual players.
Ligue 1 might not hold much attraction to a decorated player such as the Portugal superstar, but if he wants to win another Premier League title, he might favour a return to United rather than hurt his iconic status within the ranks of Old Trafford.
