Cespedes Comments on Status for World Series Game 1
Saturday, Oct. 24
Cespedes said he feels "a lot better" than when the injury occurred, according to Rubin.
“I don’t think it’s going to limit me,” Cespedes said through an interpreter, per Rubin. “And, honestly, if I really, truly didn’t feel 100 percent, I would not have a problem just stepping down and saying I can’t play. But I feel like I’ll be ready.”
“Compared to the first day, I feel a lot better,” Cespedes continued. “I could have probably done a little bit more today, but I didn’t really want to push myself. I want to give myself another day before I really start doing stuff again.”

Friday, Oct. 23
The Mets announced Cespedes was told to rest 24 hours following the shot, per Bob Klapisch of the Record.
Cespedes Vital to Mets' World Series Hopes
Cespedes has been solid all year, especially since the Mets acquired him. He helped provide much-needed power to the middle of the lineup and slugged over .600 after the trade.
Getting him back in the lineup lengthens the Mets offense and will lend more support to the Mets' array of young, talented starting pitchers.
If the Mets hope to defeat the Royals, they'll need to be clicking on all cylinders and Cespedes is essential to that effort.
