Warriors Media Day 2015: Top Interviews, Photos, Video and Reaction

Timothy RappSep 28, 2015

The defending NBA champions, the Golden State Warriors, were unveiled on Monday during the team's media day.

And there was one unifying theme throughout the proceedings.

"We know how tough it is to win one championship, so we know how tough it will be to defend it," reigning MVP Stephen Curry said during his press conference, per Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle

His running mate, Klay Thompson, hit on a similar point.

"We tasted winning, and we're kind of addicted," Thompson said, per Simmons, before adding, "We all do really have one common goal, and that’s to hoist the Larry O’Brien [Trophy] again."

And Draymond Green knows the entire league wants a piece of the Warriors now.

"Everybody’s going to be gunning for us," he said in his presser, per the team's official Twitter account. "So we have to make sure we come ready to play from Day 1."

He added, per Simmons"Any time you win a championship, you have to make sure everybody stays hungry. That won't ever be a problem for this team."

Of course, championship talk wasn't the only thing on the agenda. Curry noted that he was "looking forward to chopping it up with Coach Nash," per Bay Area Sports Guy on Twitter. The team hired future Hall of Famer and former player Steve Nash to be a player-development consultant on Friday, per Eric Pincus of the Los Angeles Times.

Andre Iguodala had an interesting take on winning the Sixth Man of the Year award, meanwhile, per Monte Poole of CSN Bay Area:

That response didn't surprise Ethan Strauss of ESPN:

The Warriors weren't all about business on Monday either. Harrison Barnes showed off his shooting skills, for one:

He also popped into Andrew Bogut's presser to ask the center a question or two, per Simmons:

And Barnes had a bit of fun with some cutout emojis too, per the team's Instagram account:

He was also pressed on more serious issues, however.

"Things are going well," he said when asked about contract negotiations with the team, per Diamond Leung of the Bay Area News Group. "I've got no complaints."

He added that he would like to sign an extension before the deadline, per Simmons, though he conceded that "things don’t always happen that way. I do know that I love it here in Oakland."

Thompson, meanwhile, couldn't resist showing off his sweet stroke as well:

He also told reporters that being a Splash Brother is as good as it gets.

"I wouldn’t rather play with anybody else," he said during his press conference when asked about playing alongside Curry, per the team's Twitter account.

Overall, it was a pretty busy, entertaining and informative day from the Warriors' camp. All of the players got in on the action, as the team's Instagram page showed:

The Warriors remain one of the league's deepest, most talented and exciting teams. Barring any major injuries, they are going to be tough to knock off their perch as both the league's best team and its most entertaining one to watch.

In fact, Golden State may be even better this season, as Curry hinted at, per LetsGoWarriors:

There will be contenders, of course. The Western Conference is stacked, and a healthy Kevin Durant should add another contender in the Oklahoma City Thunder. Meanwhile, the East is paced by LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, though the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat should make noise as well.

But listening to the Warriors talk, nobody in that locker room is assuming winning another championship is a given or will be an easy endeavor. They came across as a hungry, motivated team excited by the opportunity to prove once again it is the NBA's best.

And that—combined with an MVP in Curry, a deep roster behind him and a smart coaching staff led by Steve Kerr—makes the Warriors incredibly dangerous once again.
