Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Johnson, 29, has spent time with the Cleveland Browns, the San Francisco 49ers, the Cincinnati Bengals and the New York Jets since being selected in the fifth round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2008, though he's made few 53-man rosters in recent years.
He's appeared in 29 games in his career, throwing for 1,042 yards, five touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He brings good athleticism to the quarterback position, though he's not a pure scrambler, using his mobility to extend the play.
His accuracy has always been an issue, however, as he has just a 54.2 completion percentage for his career. That has kept him as a journeyman and not a career backup, though he brings enough to the table to keep teams interested.
The Colts almost assuredly brought him aboard given the uncertainty of Andrew Luck's availability for Week 4 as he deals with a shoulder injury. But given his experience, Johnson will be a decent option in an emergency behind backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.
