Bryson DeChambeau Gives In-Depth Breakdown on Struggles in Video After Missing 3 Straight Major Cuts
After missing the cut at a third consecutive major tournament, Bryson DeChambeau broke down every shot he made at the 2026 U.S. Open last week.
In a video posted on his YouTube channel, DeChambeau watched back every shot he hit over the course of his two rounds at Shinnecock Hills in Southampton, New York:

DeChambeau opened the video by saying, "I've been wanting to do this for a little bit now. And I think it's important for you guys, especially given that I show myself in different ways. Whether it's entertaining on YouTube or whether it's playing professional golf, I want to do my best at every single event. The way I've played recently is not a true reflection, unfortunately. I've been working incredibly hard and sometimes it just doesn't pan out, which kind of sucks. And that's golf, that's life."
The 32-year-old veteran added that he wanted to give his fans and viewers a "raw perspective" of his game and what has been going wrong recently.
DeChambeau got off to a solid start on a difficult course, shooting an even-par 70 in the first round of the U.S. Open, but he fell short of the cut due to a five-over 75 in the second round.
Only three golfers shot under par for the tournament, and Wyndham Clark went on to win with a score of four-under, beating Sam Burns by one stroke.
The U.S. Open has traditionally been DeChambeau's best tournament, as he won the event in both 2020 and 2024, accounting for the only major titles of his career.
However, the long-hitting LIV Golf star has now missed the cut at the U.S. Open in back-to-back years, and he has missed the cut at all three majors this so far this year.
He will have one more opportunity to get back on track on the major front during the 2026 season when the Open Championship takes place from July 16 through 19 at Royal Birkdale Golf Club Southport, Merseyside, England.
