New NBA Trade Rumors on Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo and T-Wolves Amid Giannis Buzz
The Minnesota Timberwolves are reportedly assessing the trade value of several assets with free agency drawing closer.
According to HoopsHype's Michael Scotto, Minnesota has gauged the value of Julius Randle, Donte DiVincenzo, and its No. 28 overall pick in the 2026 NBA draft on the trade market.
Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic previously reported that the Timberwolves were expected to join the bidding war for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo after initially attempting to land him ahead of the Feb. 5 deadline.
Randle is under contract with the Timberwolves through next season after signing a three-year extension worth $100 million in June 2025.
He's set to earn $33.3 million for the 2026-27 season before he holds a $35.8 million player option for his 2027-28 campaign (via Spotrac).
Randle continued to operate as a secondary scorer alongside Anthony Edwards during his second year in Minnesota, averaging 21.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game while shooting 48.1 percent from the field during the regular season.
It's worth noting that he struggled in the playoffs, recording just 12.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per game on 34.2/19.0/73.1 shooting splits in the Timberwolves' second-round loss to the San Antonio Spurs.
Although DiVincenzo played all 82 regular-season games, his playoff run came to an early end after he suffered a torn Achilles in the first round.
It was a tough end to an encouraging season from 29-year-old, as he averaged 12.2 points on a nightly basis and shot 37.9 percent from three-point territory while attempting 7.9 triples per game.
DiVincenzo has just one more season on his contract before hitting unrestricted free agency, as his availability for next year is uncertain while he recovers from Achilles surgery.
If the Timberwolves are looking to make a major splash on the trade market, Randle and DiVincenzo could both be on the move.
