15 MLB Prospects With Future 30-Homer Potential

Joel ReuterJun 20, 2026

It's not difficult to identify a prospect with significant raw power potential, but determining whether that power will translate to in-game production once they reach the big leagues is another story.

For some sluggers, the path is linear from top prospect to MLB standout, with 2025 AL Rookie of the Year Nick Kurtz serving as a prime example.

For others, the road is far more winding, with a late-bloomer like Kurtz's teammate Brent Rooker not recording his first 30-homer campaign until he was 28 years old, despite a first-round pedigree.

Ahead we've identified the 15 current prospects with the highest likelihood of eventually developing into a 30-homer performer in the big leagues.

Note: Josue Briceño (DET), Ethan Holliday (COL) and Sebastian Walcott (TEX) were not included due to significant injuries that have kept them sidelined during the 2026 season, but all three also fit the bill.

10 Teenagers With 30-Homer Upside

For teenage prospects, future power potential is as much about physical development as it is on-field production, making it difficult to compare them to their more advanced counterparts.

While no teenagers made our main list, here are 10 worth keeping an eye on that could represent the next wave of up-and-coming 30-homer threats:

1B/OF Edward Florentino, PIT
OF Justin Gonzales, BOS
1B Taitn Gray, TB
OF Josiah Hartshorn, CHC
SS Jesus Made, MIL
SS Emil Morales, LAD
SS/3B Xavier Neyens, HOU
OF Cris Rodriguez, DET
C Rainiel Rodriguez, STL
3B Juan Sanchez, TOR

OF Joshua Báez, St. Louis Cardinals

2 of 16
Spring Breakout - Houston Astros v St. Louis Cardinals

Age: 22
Current Level: AAA
2026 Stats: 290 PA, .351 ISO, .974 OPS, 40 XBH (24 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: No. 72

After lackluster seasons in 2023 (91 G, .723 OPS, 7 HR) and 2024 (86 G, .743 OPS, 11 HR), Joshua Báez was one of the biggest breakout prospects of the 2025 season, hitting .287/.384/.500 with 20 home runs in 117 games between High-A and Double-A.

He joined Konnor Griffin as the only players with 20-homer, 50-steal seasons in the minors last year, and his in-game power has been even more prominent this year. With an athletic 6'3", 220-pound frame and a streamlined swing, he is trending toward future stardom.

1B Tony Blanco Jr., Pittsburgh Pirates

3 of 16
Spring Breakout - Detroit Tigers v Pittsburgh Pirates

Age: 21
Current Level: A+
2026 Stats: 207 PA, .251 ISO, .795 OPS, 22 XBH (12 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: Unranked

With an imposing 6'7", 243-pound frame and elite exit velocity numbers that mirror some of the top sluggers in the big leagues, Tony Blanco Jr. might have the most raw power of any prospect in baseball.

In 157 career games in the minors, or roughly one full MLB season's worth of action, he is a .250/.335/.464 hitter with 30 home runs and 103 RBI. The power will play in any ballpark, the question is whether a 33.1 percent strikeout rate in the minors climbs to untenable levels in the majors. For now, it's fun to dream on his vast ceiling if everything clicks.

SS/3B Caleb Bonemer, Chicago White Sox

4 of 16
Chicago White Sox v. Los Angeles Dodgers

Age: 20
Current Level: AA
2026 Stats: 291 PA, .306 ISO, .928 OPS, 34 XBH (18 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: No. 21

The No. 43 overall pick in the 2024 draft, Caleb Bonemer is quickly shaping up to be one of the steals of his draft class and a candidate to make an impact in the big leagues in the not-too-distant future.

His in-game power has come much quicker than expected, and he crushed High-A pitching to the tune of a .937 OPS and 18 home runs in 61 games to earn an early promotion to Double-A. His developmental curve has spiked so sharply in the last year, it's hard to put a cap on his power ceiling as he plays out his age-20 season.

1B/OF Ryan Clifford, New York Mets

5 of 16
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders v Syracuse Mets

Age: 22
Current Level: AAA
2026 Stats: 284 PA, .222 ISO, .721 OPS, 26 XBH (14 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: Unranked

The Mets acquired Ryan Clifford in the salary dump deal that sent Justin Verlander back to the Astros at the 2023 trade deadline, and with a strong 6'3", 200-pound frame and smooth left-handed swing, he has easy power to all fields.

He posted an .826 OPS with 29 home runs in the upper levels of the minors last year, though questions remain about his hit tool, and 103 strikeouts in 69 games at Triple-A this year have done little to ease those concerns. At the very least, he looks like a low-average, high-OBP slugger who could be the Mets everyday first baseman before 2026 is over.

1B/OF Charlie Condon, Colorado Rockies

6 of 16
Spring Breakout 2026: Colorado Rockies v Arizona Diamondbacks

Age: 23
Current Level: AAA
2026 Stats: 288 PA, .260 ISO, .916 OPS, 30 XBH (14 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: No. 60

Charlie Condon hit .433/.556/1.009 with 37 home runs in 60 games during his junior season at the University of Georgia, winning Golden Spikes honors in the process before going No. 3 overall in the 2024 draft.

He had a relatively quiet first full professional season last year relative to that gaudy baseline, but he turned a corner in the Arizona Fall League, hitting .337 with an .873 OPS in 23 games. With a strong 6'5" frame and a swing that is reminiscent of peak Kris Bryant, he could be Colorado's best homegrown slugger since Todd Helton.

OF Josue De Paula, Los Angeles Dodgers

7 of 16
Arkansas Travelers v Tulsa Drillers

Age: 21
Current Level: AA
2026 Stats: 299 PA, .245 ISO, .994 OPS, 35 XBH (13 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: No. 5

Signed for a modest $397,500 during the 2022 international period, Josue De Paula has tantalized with his offensive upside since making his pro debut, and he is finally starting to turn potential into production.

The 2025 Futures Game MVP has already set a new career-high with 13 home runs in 63 games at Double-A, and his 60-grade hit tool will help him make the most of his tremendous raw power. A smaller, more athletic Yordan Alvarez has become an increasingly popular comparison.

1B/3B Andrew Fischer, Milwaukee Brewers

8 of 16
Spring Breakout - Milwaukee Brewers v Athletics

Age: 22
Current Level: AA
2026 Stats: 251 PA, .385 ISO, 1.124 OPS, 32 XBH (21 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: Unranked

Andrew Fischer played his way into the first round of the 2025 draft by hitting .341/.497/.760 with 25 home runs and more walks (63) than strikeouts (42) last spring at the University of Tennessee.

He is limited athletically and it remains to be seen if he can stick at third base, but he has been one of the most productive power bats in the minors. After going 5-for-14 with two doubles and one home run for Team Italy in the WBC, he hit .298/.443/.675 with 20 home runs in 54 games at High-A to open the year before making his Double-A debut on Wednesday.

3B Murf Gray, Pittsburgh Pirates

9 of 16
Spring Breakout - Detroit Tigers v Pittsburgh Pirates

Age: 22
Current Level: A+
2026 Stats: 278 PA, .291 ISO, 1.063 OPS, 33 XBH (18 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: Unranked

A three-year starter at Fresno State, Murf Gray had the bat to be a first-round pick in the 2025 draft, but questions about his future defensive home and an extremely aggressive approach at the plate led to him sliding to No. 73 overall.

Few players across all of minor league baseball have been more productive this season, as he is hitting .346/.426/.637 with 18 home runs in 62 games between Single-A and High-A. His 19.1 percent strikeout rate has helped ease some concerns about his swing decisions, and with 10 home runs in 24 games since his promotion to High-A, another move up the ladder could be coming soon.

1B Xavier Isaac, Tampa Bay Rays

10 of 16
Tampa Bay Rays v Minnesota Twins

Age: 22
Current Level: AA
2026 Stats: 239 PA, .232 ISO, .848 OPS, 18 XBH (12 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: Unranked

Xavier Isaac has long had some of the best raw power in the minors, dating back to Tampa Bay's surprising decision to take him No. 29 overall in the 2022 draft almost exclusively on the strength of that plus tool. He backed it up immediately, hitting .285/.395/.521 with 19 home runs in 102 games in 2023.

Elbow and wrist injuries limited him to 41 games last season, and he batted just .201 with a strikeout rate near 30 percent when healthy. His prospect stock took a hit as a result, but he is back at the Double-A level this year and once again looking like a potential future masher.

OF Dakota Jordan, San Francisco Giants

11 of 16
San Francisco Giants v Sacramento River Cats

Age: 23
Current Level: A+
2026 Stats: 276 PA, .178 ISO, .790 OPS, 25 XBH (9 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: Unranked

Dakota Jordan was a 3-star wide receiver recruit committed to play baseball and football at Mississippi State before the Giants convinced him otherwise by going way over-slot with a $1,997,500 bonus in the fourth round of the 2024 draft.

With a 6'0", 231-pound frame and a 60-power, 70-speed toolbox, he is a unique athlete who is just scratching the surface of his potential on the baseball field. He has homered 23 times in 152 professional games, and there is real 30/30 potential as he continues to turn raw talent into on-field production.

OF Lazaro Montes, Seattle Mariners

12 of 16
Arkansas Travelers v Tulsa Drillers

Age: 21
Current Level: AA
2026 Stats: 272 PA, .306 ISO, .889 OPS, 30 XBH (20 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: No. 23

With a 6'5", 210-pound frame and easy natural loft in his smooth left-handed swing, Lazaro Montes looks a lot like Yordan Alvarez 2.0 when he squares up a pitch. He did that frequently last season, when he logged an .858 OPS with 32 home runs in 131 games between High-A and Double-A.

He also struck out 169 times at a 29.0 percent clip last year, and he is whiffing at roughly the same rate through 64 games at Double-A this season. Strikeouts will always be a part of his game, but if he can keep that rate below 30 percent in the majors, he could be a fixture on the AL home run leaderboard.

OF Braden Montgomery, Chicago White Sox

13 of 16
Chicago White Sox v New York Yankees

Age: 23
Current Level: MLB
2026 Stats: 258 PA, .233 ISO, .970 OPS, 26 XBH (10 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: No. 27

Braden Montgomery made his MLB debut on June 9 and immediately showcased the top-tier power that made him the top bat in the White Sox farm system with a walk-off home run.

He slugged 62 home runs in 187 games in college before going No. 12 overall in the 2024 draft to the Red Sox, and they flipped him to the White Sox as part of the blockbuster deal to acquire Garrett Crochet. He is a solid all-around hitter from both sides of the plate with elite bat speed, and he should be a fixture in right field and in the middle of the lineup for a White Sox team on the rise.

SS Arjun Nimmala, Toronto Blue Jays

14 of 16
Toronto Blue Jays v. Philadelphia Phillies

Age: 20
Current Level: AA
2026 Stats: 177 PA, .164 ISO, .801 OPS, 17 XBH (4 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: No. 42

Just 20 years old, Arjun Nimmala requires more projection than perhaps anyone else on this list, but he has already hinted at significant power production to come while playing against older competition on an aggressive developmental track.

He racked up 45 extra-base hits in 120 games at High-A last season, and this year he is showing a far more advanced approach, which should help him maximize his raw power. He has already added 20 pounds of muscle to his 6'0" frame since going No. 20 overall in the 2023 draft, and now it's simply a matter of reps and developmental time.

1B/OF Ethan Petry, Washington Nationals

15 of 16
Scottsdale Scorpions v Surprise Saguaros

Age: 22
Current Level: AA
2026 Stats: 223 PA, .241 ISO, .900 OPS, 22 XBH (12 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: Unranked

For every Pete Alonso, there are dozens of right-handed hitting, first-base-only prospects that never hit enough to carry a limited value profile. That's why teams often avoid that demographic early in the draft, and it's exactly why Ethan Petry slipped to the second round in the 2025 draft.

The 6'4", 235-pound masher hit .336/.462/.661 with 54 home runs in 168 games over three years at South Carolina, also winning 2024 Cape Cod League MVP honors. The early returns have been excellent at the onset of his pro career, and he already earned an early promotion to Double-A.

1B Ralphy Velazquez, Cleveland Guardians

16 of 16
Harrisburg Senators v Akron RubberDucks

Age: 21
Current Level: AAA
2026 Stats: 256 PA, .211 ISO, .867 OPS, 28 XBH (8 HR)
B/R Top 100 Rank: No. 36

Originally drafted as a catcher, Ralphy Velazquez shifted to first base almost immediately as the Guardians looked to put his power bat on the fast track to the big leagues.

After a lackluster 2024 season, he posted an .839 OPS with 22 home runs in 122 games between High-A and Double-A last year while showing power to all fields and maintaining a strikeout rate under 20 percent. After hitting .317/.414/.566 with 19 extra-base hits in 36 games at Double-A to open the year, he is now banging on the door at Triple-A and still just a few weeks removed from his 21st birthday.
