Sunday Preview

4 of 4

Sunday's opener will pit Paseo Verde Little League of Henderson, Nevada (Mountain Region) against Soundview Little League of Tacoma, Washington.

Soundview has taken the tough road to this point, notching 2-0 and 4-3 victories over the Southeast and Southwest regions, respectively. Paseo Verde, meanwhile, delivered a 6-5 walk-off win over the Great Lakes on Friday to advance. Both teams have shown the ability to win tight contests, so this should be a fun matchup to start the day.

The second morning match will feature Municipal De Tijuana Little League of Tijuana in a matchup with Ministerio Sobre Las Alas Del Águila Little League of León, Nicaragua.

On paper, this is a less-even matchup. The Latin America representative eked through close contests against the Caribbean and Panama, while Mexico is coming off a 7-1 romp over Australia.

Game 3 will feature Davenport Northwest Little League of Davenport, Iowa, a team that is coming off a combined no-hitter against the West region. Davenport will take on a Bayonne Central Little League team that has notched 2-1 and 3-1 victories over the New England and Mid-Atlantic regions.

Bayonne's first victory of the tournament came in walk-off fashion.

Sunday's last tournament game will pit West Seoul Little League of South Korea against Pariba Little League of Willemstad, Curaçao.

Willemstad has produced two of the last four LLWC runners-up, and Pariba is coming off a dominant 6-0 shutout of Japan. However, West Seoul has looked like one of the best squads in the tournament while winning 7-0 and 5-0 against Canada and Europe-Africa, respectively.

Sunday's nightcap will be Major League Baseball's annual Little League Classic, featuring the Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers at historic Bowman Field.
