Jacob Misiorowski Makes MLB History, Sets Record for Most 101-MPH Pitches in Single Game

Milwaukee Brewers ace Jacob Misiorowski continues to throw really hard at great frequency.

Since MLB began tracking pitch velocities in 2008, Misiorowski's 47 pitches of at least 101 mph during Friday's 3-2 loss to the Atlanta Braves broke the single-game record that he previously set two weeks ago.

Those 47 pitches accounted for more than 50 percent of the total pitches Misiorowski threw in the start. He finished his outing with just 91 pitches in six innings.

Misiorowski's average fastball velocity was 101.6 mph and reached a top speed of 104.2 mph.

It does speak to how dominant Misiorowski that his outing on Friday, which saw him allow two runs on five hits with seven strikeouts over six innings, was his worst performance since April 25.

"He was great," Brewers manager Pat Murphy said of Misiorowski after the game. "He was dominant, fantastic. You know, you're going to give up runs. You're a human. Go back and look at some of the greats. They all gave up runs. We're kind of shocked when he gives up a run."

The right-hander had only given up two runs in his previous eight appearances and had thrown 29 consecutive innings without giving up an earned run prior to Friday night. Mauricio Dubón broke the streak with a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth.

Misiorowski's seven strikeouts against the Braves were tied for his second-fewest in a game in 2026.

Despite the "rough" showing for Misiorowski, he still leads MLB with a 1.45 ERA and 138 strikeouts in 14 starts.
