WWE NXT Results, Winners, Live Grades, Reaction, Highlights From June 9
The June 9 edition of WWE NXT promised to reveal the foundations of the Great American Bash.
Mason Rook vs. Naraku and Kelani Jordan vs. Kendal Grey, respectively, would decide which two competitors would fight NXT champion Tony D'Angelo and NXT women's champion Lola Vice at the premium live event on June 28.
Tatum Paxley put her Women's North American Championship on the line against the dangerous Zaria. Shiloh Hill challenged Tristan Angels in a Mr. NXT Pageant.
Who would emerge with gold or a new opportunity to capture an NXT championship? Who would be the first-ever Mr. NXT?
Fraxiom vs. Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno
1 of 7Last Time in Action: This was the first tag team match for Nathan Frazer and Axiom since losing the NXT Tag Team Championships (NXT Stand & Deliver, April 14, 2025). This was the debut of Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno as a tag team.
This was a fast-paced, high-action contest, especially once Frazer stopped interjecting in the action and working with Axiom fully.
Romeo worked desperate to save Dar at multiple times in this contest, showing he could keep up Fraxiom's frantic pace.
Dar and Romeo finally got control late, locking both men in Ankle Locks at the same time, but Fraxiom broke free.
Romeo almost caught Frazer again with a Small Package after a Superplex, but Frazer kicked out this time. Dar and Romeo hit a double side slam for another nearfall.
Romeo dived right into a Double Superkick. Fraxiom followed up with a Golden Ratio and Phoenix Splash for the victory.
On a night loaded with matches with real stakes, this was a surprise opener that may have stolen the whole show.
As always, Fraxiom looked fantastic and should be getting serious spotlight on SmackDown for their ability to elevate any opponents.
However, it was truly Romeo that continues to shine in these spots. While this was about building a new necessary tag team for NXT, Romeo looks like someone that is going to break out all on his own.
His speed and fire in the ring is reminiscent of the energy Je'Von Evans brought to NXT, and the two are nearly the same age.
While WWE may love its bigger stars at the top of the card, the future is looking brightest when it comes to the future high fliers.
Result
Axiom and Frazer def. Romeo and Dar by pinfall.

No. 1 Contender for NXT Championship: Mason Rook vs. Naraku
2 of 7
Last Time in Action: Mason Rook alongside Kam Hendrix defeated Myles Borne and Tony D'Angelo (NXT, May 19); Naraku defeated Lince Dorado (NXT, May 12).
These two men hit hard throughout this intense contest where Naraku found himself out-sized by his opponent.
While the former EVIL had answers to wear down Rook, he could not keep him down, allowing the big man to rally.
Rook almost sealed the win after hitting Naraku with a Running Corner Death Valley Driver and setting up his finisher.
Kam Hendrix arrived to distract Rook, who walked right into Enter The Abyss from Naraku, giving the former EVIL the victory.
It was obvious early in this contest that this was not going to be the usual pace of style of NXT. These are two veterans with plenty of experience built outside the Performance Center.
Rook's hard-hitting style paired well with Naraku's Strong Style and delivered an engaging contest between two men that both should face Tony D'Angelo soon.
The distraction of Hendrix is just the latest weird way that he has ruined the main event scene of NXT.
He did not need to get involved in this contest to "protect" Rook as it only made Naraku look worse. He was visibly overwhelmed at the end of this match.
Hopefully, NXT will pick up the pace with this story after all the teases. There is real potential in D'Angelo vs. Naraku that should go beyond a one-off title collision.
Result
Naraku def. Rook by pinfall to earn an NXT Championship opportunity at Great American Bash.

No. 1 Contender for NXT Women's Championship: Kelani Jordan vs. Kendal Grey
3 of 7Last Time in Action: Kelani Jordan defeated Wren Sinclair (NXT, May 26); Kendal Grey lost to Jordan (NXT, May 12).
Jordan tried to sneak attack Grey to start the match, but she ducked it and went right on the attack herself.
The two familiar competitors answered each other's best offense time and again.
Jordan nearly stole the win by countering Shades of Grey into a pin with her feet on the ropes, but the referee caught her.
Grey went for a dive but fell into a Superkick followed by a Five-Star Frog Splash for a near-fall. When Jordan went for a springboard, Grey pulled her down into an Armbar that nearly forced a submission.
Jordan locked in the Haas of Pain that injured Wren Sinclair, but Grey refused to quit then laid out Jordan with Shades of Grey for the win.
This was an excellent battle between two top-tier athletes that have found their chemistry over multiple battles.
Every moment of this match had the crowd invested and showcased why both of these women should be fighting for top prizes in WWE.
The pace of this feud between Grey and Jordan makes this finish feels a bit anticlimactic, but the final match may only come after Grey wins the NXT Women's Championship.
Vice has had a solid title reign so far, but Grey is clearly the standout that NXT needs to most invest in right now. It would be disappointing if she lost at GAB.
Result
Grey def. Jordan by pinfall to earn an NXT Women's Championship match at Great American Bash.

Dion Lennox (w/ Osiris Griffin) vs. Jasper Troy
4 of 7
Last Time in Action: Dion Lennox alongside Osiris Griffin defeated Myles Borne and Tavion Heights (NXT, June 2); Jasper Troy lost to Jackson Drake (NXT, May 5).
Lennox started aggressive, attacking Troy with focus, but he struggled to keep the big man contained.
On the titantron, Saquon Shugars teased that Lennox needed to watch his back during the match, distracting him for Troy to make his comeback.
The distraction was not enough to turn the tide though as Lennox ducked a Vader Bomb and hit a Jackhammer for the victory.
After the match, Shugars reappeared on the tron in a pre-recorded distraction, allowing him to take out Griffin with a baseball bat.
This was ugly. While Lennox showed off his power against a big man, he and Troy both looked like rookies trying to keep this action moving.
Down the stretch, Lennox dropped Troy awkwardly on his head, which luckily did not seem to cause serious injury.
Lennox was always going to win, but NXT is not doing Troy any favors with these recent losses. A big man should not fall this often and quickly.
The build to Shugars vs. Lennox has worked consistently, though it is mirroring Tony D'Angelo's own dismantling of DarkState recently too much.
Result
Lennox def. Troy by pinfall.

2026 Mr. NXT Pageant
5 of 7
Last Time in Action: This was Tristan Angels' first pageant appearance since competing in the Mister International 2024 pageant in Bangkok, Thailand where he did not make the final 16. This was Shiloh Hill's pageant debut.
The Mr. NXT Pageant began after the first match of the night where Tristan Angels and Shiloh Hill showed off their fashion choices for Round 1.
Kit Wilson, WWE Evolve men's champion Aaron Rourke and comedian Matt Mathews weighed in as the judges, giving the first round to Angels 2-1.
Hill dominated the talent competition, showing off his Rubik's Cube and juggling skills. Angels tried to interrupt and show he was better without success. The judges ruled 3-0 to Hill.
Finally, the two finished with Public Speaking in front of the live NXT crowd. Angels ran down his competition on the fans while Hill talked about his journey and hardships.
Mathews and Wilson split their votes, and Rourke left the decision to the fans. The fan vote gave the win to Hill.
Angels laid out Hill afterward and told him that "Mr. NXT" was his birthright.
This was a weird segment overall but paced well enough to not take too much from the show. It did especially continue to build Hill's popularity as an every-man.
He and Angels have build solid heat that can lead to a real match soon, maybe at GAB.
Beyond that match, Hill is clearly at a level where he could win gold soon, likely dethroning Myles Borne.
Result
Hill is the 2026 Mr. NXT.

Women's North American Championship: Tatum Paxley (c) vs. Zaria
6 of 7Last Time in Action: Zaria defeated Lizzy Rain (NXT, June 2); Tatum Paxley defeated Rain to defend her Women's North American Championship (NXT, May 19).
Zaria immediately came out of the blocks fast, going for an F5 and hitting a Spear for a near-fall.
Paxley answered with a Slingshot Foot Stomp onto the steel steps, but Zaria recovered quickly, brawling outside the ring.
Paxley countered one Spear attempt with a Double Foot Stomp then went for a 450 Splash. Zaria ducked to land her second Spear for a near-fall.
Zaria tried to Superplex Paxley, but the champion tripped her into a Tree of Woe followed by a Coast to Coast for another near-fall.
Both countered the other's finisher, but Zaria hit Paxley with an F5 on the floor followed by a Spear and F5 in the ring to win the Women's North American Championship.
While the action was not always perfectly clean, especially sprinting through spots often, these two fought with main event focus, delivering some of their best work in recent memory.
It is surprising this was not saved for GAB, but it certainly got a strong spotlight in the main event.
Zaria was a worthy name to win the gold and was somewhat overdue for a championship after her early run in NXT.
She and Paxley should run this back at the PLE with more time, not requiring them to rush through the great action.
From there, Paxley should either move to the NXT Women's Championship scene again or the main roster. She has done just about everything she can in NXT.
Result
Zaria def. Paxley by pinfall to become the new Women's North American champion.

Overall Show
7 of 7If not for Dion Lennox vs. Jasper Troy running longer than it should and a Mr. NXT Pageant that was more awkward than fun, this would have been a perfect episode for NXT.
Everything else was tightly contested and elevated the wrestlers involved.
Fraxiom helped make a new rising tag team in Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno. Naraku and Mason Rook both shined despite a lackluster finish.
Kendal Grey and Kelani Jordan delivered another great match in their ongoing rivalry while solidifying the potential next NXT women's champion.
Finally, the main event finally gave Zaria her chance to run with a championship, defeating Tatum Paxley in an energetic battle that should be run back sooner than later.
This was as good as NXT has been in a long while, solidifying the key stars that are making this next generation of NXT matter.
