The Usos Shade Andrade in Trending Post After AEW Star's Comments on WWE Opportunities

The Usos have responded to Andrade El Ídolo's recent comments that Samoan wrestlers get more opportunities than Mexican wrestlers in WWE.

Andrade, the AEW National Champion, had this to say on the Latin Lover Oficial channel.

"Santos Escobar never got the opportunity [in WWE]. There are a lot of wrestlers who don't get it. Maybe this is going to sound bad," Andrade said (h/t Felix Upton of Ringside News).

"You talk about the Samoans, a lot of them—the majority, not all of them, right? Roman Reigns, of course, he made it. He did it. But there are several of them who haven't, and they give them opportunities and give them opportunities, and they're still there, they're still there, they're still there."

"I'm like, 'They've already been doing it for 20 years.' You can't force it, gentlemen. You can't force it. I'm like, 'This guy has already been doing this (expletive) for 20 years and he still hasn't gotten it.' I'm like, 'We didn't get that opportunity.' […] Mexicans get very few opportunities. It's that simple. They have Humberto and Garza—well, Garza and Berto. They're very good friends of mine. They haven't been given the opportunity."

Andrade has wrestled professionally for 23 years. He was signed to WWE for two stints (2015-2021, 2024-2025) and won a few titles, earning the NXT Championship, the WWE Speed Championship and WWE United States Championship.

He's also found great success elsewhere, including in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he was the IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion and IWGP Intercontinental Champion.

Andrade is now getting a great push in AEW, where he just earned a future AEW World Championship chance by winning the Casino Gauntlet match at All In.

Andrade made reference to Santos Escobar, whose seven-year run with WWE ended earlier this year after he was released. His highlights included winning the NXT Cruiserweight Championship and participating in the WWE United States Championship Invitational.
