The Vision is Doomed, WWE Fumbling Liv Morgan, More Raw Fallout Before Clash in Italy
The Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio hosted the May 25 edition of WWE Raw on Netflix, the final episode before Clash in Italy.
Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu signed their title match contract. Oba Femi confirmed he would fight Brock Lesnar again. Austin Theory attacked Angelo Dawkins and Joe Hendry after it was confirmed that Logan Paul was injured.
The Judgment Day fell short against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. Montez Ford lost to Seth Rollins in a memorable battle. Rey Mysterio earned the next shot at Penta's Intercontinental Championship.
This was an eventful show that teased an exciting future for WWE before its European tour.
WWE Continues to Fumble Liv Morgan's Title Reign
1 of 5
Liv Morgan was supposed to be the new top woman on Raw, but since her win at WrestleMania 42, she has stood in the background behind the rest of The Judgment Day.
From testing Roxanne Perez to pushing JD McDonagh to finish off his mentor Finn Bálor, she has played a manager role, encouraging bad behavior from her stablemates.
This would be a fine role for Morgan if she were still healing up from past injuries, but she is the women's world champion.
She should have clear rivals for her gold. Instead, she is stuck in a holding pattern, awaiting the return of Stephanie Vaquer. That makes no sense for a roster that should be seeking any golden opportunity.
This is already reminiscent of the failed reign of Jade Cargill, who barely found a challenger before losing the WWE Women's Championship to Rhea Ripley.
This booking makes everyone look bad, from the forgotten champion to the indifferent challengers to the bookers who put it all together.
The Vision Curse Strikes Again
2 of 5Since The Vision first formed, each member of the group has fallen by the wayside due to injury: Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed and now Logan Paul.
While Rollins' original injury was the most disastrous for the group, The Maverick's issue may have been the worst since then.
The group had almost returned to full capacity once more and desperately clung to the World Tag Team Championships to sell their threat.
With Paul's injury, Breakker has to step up to defend the tag titles, likely leaving him out of the King of the Ring picture.
Best wishes to Paul on a smooth recovery, but The Vision needs to make a major change quickly.
At this stage, WWE should rebrand everything and everyone involved with The Vision. Start afresh with the talent, as nothing about this angle is working anymore.
Montez Ford Still Has Massive Upside
3 of 5
In a rare WWE sighting, Montez Ford got a singles match, and in a far-less rare sighting, he stole the show.
This was another reminder of how good The Street Profits star has always been. While his value in a tag team with Angelo Dawkins is undeniable, he also has plenty of untapped singles potential.
WWE needs tag teams at this stage more than ever, but it has never shown enough interest in tag team wrestling to keep anyone in tag‑team purgatory forever.
Ford should have a chance to run with the Intercontinental Championship and prove he could even go after the world title.
However, at this stage, it looks unlikely WWE will ever give him that chance despite his immense talent and charisma.
Time to Figure Out Rey Mysterio's Retirement Tour
4 of 5
What is the point of Rey Mysterio earning a shot at the Intercontinental Championship at 51 years old?
The best option is that Mysterio will put over Penta, further solidifying his status as WWE's new top luchador, but the company's inconsistent booking with The Master of the 619 could swing the other way.
No matter his age, Mysterio keeps getting opportunities his fellow luchadors do not. Dragon Lee has returned to action and still stands in his mentor's shadow.
It is time to consider how much longer Mysterio has left. While he recently became the AAA general manager, he should be winding down as an in-ring competitor.
This is the time to figure out how he can best put over Penta, Dragon and then Dominik Mysterio on his way to retirement.
If the goal is not for Dominik to retire his father by WrestleMania 43, WWE needs to reconsider how it is booking Mysterio, who should not be anywhere near the title scene anymore.
Clash in Italy is Set Up for Major Surprise
5 of 5May ends for WWE with Clash in Italy, where three world championships could change hands.
It is important that Sunday's premium live event clearly states WWE's intention to make this summer can't‑miss television.
Jacob Fatu dethroning Roman Reigns would be a huge moment, while Gunther defeating Cody Rhodes would be even more shocking.
However, if both world titles stay with the champions who left WrestleMania 42, it would signal that nothing is likely to change any time soon.
With a rematch set between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar, the obvious answer would be for The Beast Incarnate to avenge his loss.
This is bad business and would take away from what WWE has built with The Ruler. He needs to win to solidify his dominance.
Becky Lynch vs. Sol Ruca could go either way, but WWE should bet on the fresh name and test the latter as far as she can go as women's intercontinental champion.
Rhea Ripley vs. Jade Cargill is the only predictable match that should remain predictable as The Storm has done nothing to sell a reason for her to regain the WWE Women's World Championship.
WWE might also consider adding a promo or surprise appearance to spice up the show that will get everyone talking again about a product that feels too stale.
