AEW Dynamite, Collision Results, Winners, Live Grades, Highlights Before Double or Nothing 2026
Welcome to Bleacher Report's live coverage of the May 20 AEW Dynamite and Collision supershow.
This is the final stop before Sunday's Double or Nothing pay-per-view, so it was another super-sized three-hour show with Collision serving as the third hour.
Here's a look at what All Elite Wrestling advertised for Wednesday's episode:
Let's take a look at everything that went down on this week's Dynamite and Collision supershow.
The Bucks of Jericho vs. Ricochet, Mark Davis and Andrade El Idolo
1 of 8
Jericho and the Young Bucks gave a promo near a lighthouse about teaming up for the first time before we went back to the arena for their entrance to take on Ricochet, Davis and El Idolo.
Y2J and Ricochet started for their teams, but Rico quickly tagged out to Andrade to avoid having to face his rival.
Jericho clearly worked to get into better shape during his recent hiatus, but he also seems to have regained some of his quickness in the process. He had no problem keeping up with anyone else.
This was a typical AEW trios bout. It had a quick pace, often ignored tags in favor of multi-man spots, and gave all six guys a chance to shine in different ways.
This was a fun, energetic way to kick off the three-hour show. We didn't see anything too wild, but the match flowed well, and everyone worked together to make it entertaining.
The Dogs showed up to interfere, which allowed El Idolo to steal the win by pinning Matt Jackson. When the assault continued after the bell, Jack Perry showed up and hit Toa Liona with a bag of onions. This led to everyone coming out to brawl ahead of Stadium Stampede this weekend.
Result: Ricochet, Davis and El Idolo defeated The Bucks of Jericho
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Mark Briscoe
2 of 8
Last time in action: Ciampa lost a 10-man tag match (Dynamite, May 13), Briscoe won a six-man tag match (Collision, May 16)
The next match saw Ciampa and Briscoe engage in an Anything Goes fight. The Chicken carried a trash can full of weapons to the ring, so they did not waste any time with traditional wrestling and got right into the mayhem.
These two have known each other for a long time, and Ciampa came into this with a 4-0 record against Briscoe. The match got bloody before the break when Ciampa used a cheese grater on Briscoe's head.
It was surprising to see AEW schedule a match this violent so early in the show. It was entertaining, but it might be too much for some younger fans. If you enjoy carnage, you probably had a great time with this. If you prefer traditional wrestling, you might want to skip it.
Both guys were bleeding all over the ring before it was all said and done. Briscoe put Ciampa through a table with a Jay Driller before hitting his own finisher for the win.
Result: Briscoe defeated Ciampa
Grade: B
Notable Moments and Observations
Bandido Is Done Waiting
3 of 8
Tony Schiavone was talking in the ring when Prince Nana interrupted him. He insulted Tony until he left the ring, and then he brought Strickland out for a promo.
Before he could even get to the ring, Bandido showed up and attacked Swerve in the aisle. He hit a huge dive out of the ring before sending Strickland into the steel steps.
Nana caused a distraction that gave Swerve a chance to recover and take the ROH champion down. This segment instantly made their upcoming match feel more personal.
Bandido got the better of his rival, but that means he is probably losing on Sunday.
Grade: B
Jon Moxley vs. Kyle O'Reilly
4 of 8
Last time in action: Moxley defeated Juice Robinson (Dynamite, May 6), O'Reilly won a six-man tag (Collision, May 16)
O'Reilly holds two submission victories over Moxley, and he was looking to make it a third in this Continental Championship Eliminator match.
They started with a simple exchange of holds and reversals. Neither man was in a rush to pick up the pace because they were sizing each other up. Even when they started using strikes, they were still pacing themselves.
KOR started to favor his ribs as the show went to a break, but he started to make a comeback when we returned.
These two feel tailor-made to work together. They put on a great match that showed you don't need to go 100 MPH to be entertaining. They made every spot feel important by selling everything appropriately.
It looked like O'Reilly might get a third submission victory, but Moxley survived to the end of the time limit to make it a draw.
Result: Time Limit Draw
Grade: B+
Notable Moments and Observations
Triangle of Madness and Athena vs. Thunder Rosa, Mina Shirakawa and Brawling Birds
5 of 8
A huge eight-woman tag match was up next with Athena, Julia Hart, Skye Blue and Thekla taking on Rosa, Shirakawa, Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter.
Rosa and Athena started with a standard lockup, but it didn't take long for them to pick up the pace and start throwing each other around the ring.
It's sometimes hard for everyone to stand out in a match with this many competitors, but they did a good job balancing their time and making sure everyone spent some time in the ring.
Thekla secured the win for her team by pinning Rosa after she was misted by Hart.
Result: Athena and Triangle of Madness won
Grade: B-
Notable Moments and Observations
Darby Allin vs. Mike Bailey
6 of 8
Last time in action: Bailey won a squash (Dynamite, May 13), Allin defeated Sammy Guevara (Collision, May 16)
MJF joined the commentary team to watch Bailey challenge Allin for the men's world title.
Speedball took control immediately because the champion was a little distracted by MJF, who said he predicted Bailey would win this match.
Kevin Knight showed up to offer his support to Speedball, and MJF even tried to help him win by saving him from a pin, but Bailey ultimately ended up tapping out to the Scorpion Deathlock.
While the match was decent, it felt like there was too much else going on to focus on what was happening in the ring.
Knight grabbed a mic and tried to give Bailey a pep talk. He told Allin he would be coming for the title again after Double or Nothing.
Result: Allin defeated Bailey
Grade: B-
Notable Moments and Observations
Will Ospreay vs. Katsuyori Shibata
7 of 8
Last time in action: Ospreay defeated Ace Austin (Dynamite, May 13), Shibata lost a Battle Royal (Revolution)
Before he takes on Samoa Joe this Sunday, Ospreay stepped into the ring to take on Shibata of The Opps.
Both men immediately tried to go for an armbar, but the exchange ended with Ospreay grabbing the rope to force a break. Shibata offered his hand, but Ospreay flipped him off and took him down by the leg.
Even though the outcome of this match felt obvious before it started, it was still really fun to watch these two have a singles match without anyone else being involved. They came into this even at 1-1 in singles bouts, so Shibata still felt like a threat despite the predictability.
Ospreay couldn't make him tap out, but he did get the win with the Hidden Blade. Samoa Joe came out to confront him about their upcoming bout at DoN.
Result: Ospreay defeated Shibata
Grade: B+
Notable Moments and Observations
Rush Squash Match
8 of 8
Last time in action: Rush won a squash (Collision, May 6)
Rush had another squash victory this week, continuing his trend of quickly beating local talents. This might have been his fastest one yet.
Result: Rush won
Grade: Incomplete
