Lane Kiffin's LSU Debut vs. Dabo Swinney, Clemson Reportedly Set for ESPN College GameDay Week 1
Lane Kiffin's debut as head coach of the LSU football team reportedly will be under the national spotlight.
According to Pete Nakos of On3.com, ESPN's College GameDay is heading to Baton Rouge in Week 1 for LSU's matchup against Clemson at Tiger Stadium.
This marks the second straight year that LSU will open its season against Clemson, with LSU earning a 17-10 victory to kick off the 2025 campaign. Both teams were ranked in the top 10 in the preseason top 25 last year and were projected to be in the running for the College Football Playoff, but they both fell short of expectations and finished with 7-6 records.
LSU is hoping that Kiffin can have better success than former head coach Brian Kelly. Meanwhile, Clemson is hoping to bounce back from its first year with fewer than eight wins during head coach Dabo Swinney's tenure.
Kiffin will face his former Ole Miss team in Week 3, so there's a chance that LSU will be featured in two of the first three College GameDay shows of the season.
