The 50-year-old hasn't played in an official PGA Tour event since the Open Championship at Royal Troon in 2024.
Woods is currently recovering from lumbar disk replacement surgery that he underwent in Oct. 2025, which occurred seven months after he ruptured his left Achilles tendon.
He discussed his lingering back issues when speaking to reporters on Tuesday.
"Sometimes I have good days, sometimes I have bad days," Woods said, via Natasha Dye of People. "Disc replacement is not a lot of fun."
"So as I said, I've had a lot of procedures prior to that, so the body doesn't quite heal like it was when I was 24," he added. "Doesn't quite bounce back. I have good days when I can pretty much do anything, and other days where it's hard to just move around."
The 15-time major winner has won the Masters five times throughout his legendary career, with his most recent victory occurring in 2019.
The 2026 Masters will start on April 9.
