Per Anthony Dasher of Rivals.com, Georgia confirmed Chubb suffered a "significant" knee injury with damage to multiple ligaments. However, the program said the running back did not tear his ACL and did not injure arteries or nerves.

Gurley, Lattimore Tweet Support for Chubb

Former Georgia running back Todd Gurley and former South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore, both of whom suffered gruesome leg injuries in their college careers, tweeted their condolences to Chubb:
Chubb's Injury Will Test Georgia's RB Depth
Chubb embraced the challenge of replacing Gurley in the Bulldogs backfield this year and last. The sophomore racked up a whopping 1,547 yards and 14 touchdowns on the ground in 2014. He was off to another fantastic start in 2015, with 745 yards and seven touchdowns on just 91 carries entering play Saturday.
Former Georgia offensive coordinator and current Colorado State head coach Mike Bobo had high praise for Chubb in July.
"It's rare. He's so humble," Bobo said of the running back's character, per Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman. "I think he made Todd Gurley better just by the way he works."
Even with Gurley's departure to the NFL and this injury to Chubb, the Bulldogs have reinforcements to draw on to keep pounding the rock. Sony Michel proved he could play as a freshman last year in limited action, and senior Keith Marshall is back at it after his own injury issues halted a promising start to his career.
Given the serious nature of Chubb's injury, Richt's stable of running backs figures to be tested often the rest of this season.
