Top Saturday Night's Main Event Matches to Watch
John Cena vs. Gunther
In the finale of Cena's career, he will face one of this toughest challenges yet in the form of Gunther.
Gunther is a former world heavyweight champion and the longest-reigning intercontinental champion of all time, and he earned the right to take on Cena by winning the Last Time Is Now tournament.
The Ring General has since made it clear that he wants to not only beat Cena, but he also wants to make him tap out, which is something Cena hasn't done in over two decades.
While the 48-year-old Cena has his work cut out for him, it is far from a foregone conclusion that Gunther will come out on top.
After all, Cena is among the winningest wrestlers of all time, and his 17 world title reigns are the most in major pro wrestling history.
Cena vs. Gunther is truly a match that feels like it could go either way, lending drama and uncertainty to Cena's wrestling swan song.
Cody Rhodes vs. Oba Femi
At Saturday Night's Main Event, NXT champion Oba Femi will have the chance to prove that the gap between NXT and the main roster is negligible when he takes on WWE champion Cody Rhodes.
Femi has only been wrestling on television for about two years, but he has been a dominant force during that time, running through the NXT roster and holding the NXT Championship on two occasions.
He recently became a two-time NXT champ when he beat Ricky Saints at Deadline, which also earned him the right to prove himself against Rhodes.
The American Nightmare has had a spectacular run in his own right since returning to WWE in 2022, and he too is in the midst of his second reign as WWE champion.
While it is easy to envision Cody winning due to his status as arguably the face of WWE right now, that distinction could belong to Oba one day, so The Ruler feels like a legitimate threat to get the better of Rhodes.
Bayley vs. Sol Ruca
The women's division will also be represented at Saturday Night's Main Event with one of the main roster's most accomplished Superstars against one of the biggest potential stars of the future.
A member of the Four Horsewomen, as well as a four-time women's champion, two-time women's tag team champion and one-time Royal Rumble winner, Bayley has been tabbed as Sol Ruca's opponent for SNME.
Ruca signed with WWE in 2022 and had her first televised NXT match later that year, speaking to how quickly she has taken to the wrestling business and WWE.
A former NXT women's North American champion and WWE women's Speed champion, Ruca is one of the most impressive athletes the company has to offer.
While that may work to Ruca's advantage, Bayley possesses a significant experience and technical wrestling edge, which should make for a fun dichotomy.
