Omega European Masters 2015: Leaderboard Scores and Highlights from Friday
Danny Willett continued his strong play at the 2015 Omega European Masters on Friday, shooting to the top of the leaderboard with a round of eight-under 62. According to the European Tour's official Twitter account, the Englishman set a new tournament record through 36 holes with 127.
Willlett leads the Korean duo of Y.E. Yang and Seukhyun Baek by a single shot, as the perfect conditions during the early part of Friday's action once again resulted in some fantastic scores. A thunderstorm brought play to a halt in the late afternoon, and the latter groups suffered with their play as a result.
Here's a look at the leaderboard after two rounds of golf:

Willett Sets 36-Hole Record, Leads by 1 Shot

Willett started the day in third place on the leaderboard after a fine opening round and continued his excellent performance, making five birdies on the front nine and ending the day with a score of eight-under 62.
The Brit was almost flawless from the tee and made the difference with his short game, making several tricky putts. The European Tour's official Twitter account was impressed:
He took to Twitter to express his joy at playing such a strong round of golf:
The 27-year-old has been in excellent form of late and held a one-shot lead at one point during the recent British Open, and he'll undoubtedly be hoping for a better outcome in Switzerland. Both Yang and Baek played safe but flawless golf on Friday, finishing seven-under 63, so Willett will have his work cut out for him.
Behind those three, amateur Marcus Kinhult made a big impression on his 19th birthday, carding a four-under 66 to stay within striking distance of Willett. The young Swede is regarded as one of the best young amateurs in Europe, and he certainly backed up that claim on Friday.
Overnight leader Gregory Havret tumbled down the standings with a one-under 69, and he's now tied for fifth with a host of players, including defending champion David Lipsky, five shots behind Willett.
Lipsky started his round with two bogeys on his first three holes but bounced back to finish four-under 66, and his familiarity with the course should serve him well on Saturday and Sunday.
Peter Uihlein entertained the crowd with several spectacular shots during his round, and thanks to the European Tour's Twitter account, fans at home weren't left out in the cold. Here's the American talking to his ball on the 11th hole:
There were more moments of hilarity on offer on Friday. We're not sure whether Jamie Donaldson is any good at basketball, but this shot suggests he might be:
Play was suspended late in the afternoon as a massive thunderstorm approached the course, and the weather remained inconsistent for the next few hours. With the light fading fast, tournament officials decided to suspend play for the day.
Willett's strong form means he'll be the man to watch on Saturday as he attempts to erase the memories of the missed opportunity at St Andrews. With the likes of Lipsky and Havret not far down the leaderboard, the pressure will be on the Brit to perform, and Yang and Baek are breathing down his neck.
That said, there's little reason to doubt Willett. If he can hitting from the tee the way he has so far, his short game should take care of itself. Taking care of his mental state will be key, but Willett should be able to see this tournament out rather comfortably.
