Letroy Guion Suspended 3 Games for Arrest: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction
The Green Bay Packers have long awaited word on a possible suspension for defensive lineman Letroy Guion, and it was reported Thursday that the NFL has suspended the 28-year-old veteran for three games.
Guion was arrested in February and charged with possession of marijuana and a firearm. He was able to reach a plea deal, but the NFL has decided to discipline him further.
According to ESPN.com's Rob Demovsky, the league has suspended Guion for three games in conjunction with the arrest, although the Packers nose tackle will appeal the ruling.

At the time of his arrest, Jason Wilde of ESPN.com passed along a photo of what police confiscated from Guion:
Guion racked up 41 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 16 starts for the Pack last season, and losing him will be significant if his suspension is ultimately upheld.
That is largely due to the fact that fellow Packers defensive lineman Datone Jones has already been suspended for the first game of the season after violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy.
Green Bay decided to re-sign Guion this offseason with the knowledge that a suspension was possible. Prior to bringing him back into the fold, Packers head coach Mike McCarthy expressed his desire to keep the former Florida State standout, per Tyler Dunne of the Journal Sentinel:
"Obviously, players, all of us, the decisions you make off the field you're totally responsible for. He's accepted full responsibility. I've talked to him a number of times. He's back in Green Bay.
Yes, I stand by what I said during the season, after the season, he was an impactful personality and played good football for us. I'm hopeful, if we get past this and the monitoring gives us the green light to go forward, I'd love to have Letroy back.
"
McCarthy got his wish, but now he and the Packers must deal with the reality of being without a key defensive player for nearly a month unless Guion's appeal is successful.
There will be a great deal of pressure on linemen B.J. Raji, Mike Daniels and Josh Boyd, as well as pass-rushers Julius Peppers and Clay Matthews to fill the void left by Guion and Jones.
Provided they and the Aaron Rodgers-led offense can keep Green Bay afloat until both players return, the Packers should once again be top contenders in the NFC.
