NBA Summer League 2015: Scores and Highlights from Saturday's Las Vegas Results
A spot in the semifinals of the 2015 Las Vegas Summer League was on the line for the eight teams in action Saturday. An NBA summer league title might not be the most prestigious of honors, but winning the tournament can be a great springboard for incoming rookies or older veterans who are hoping for another shot in the league.
Among the more notable teams that are still remaining in the Vegas Summer League include the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns, all of whom have a handful of young players who could have large roles in the 2015-16 season.
Below, you'll find brief recaps for each of Saturday's four summer league games.

Saturday Recap
Spurs def. Celtics, 95-93

One piece of late-game heroics begets another.
Terry Rozier's three-pointer with 2.5 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter brought the Boston Celtics into a 93-93 tie with the San Antonio Spurs. After San Antonio called a timeout, Treveon Graham inbounded the ball to Shannon Scott, who somehow got his runner to find nothing but net as time expired:
Kyle Anderson missed two late free throws that could have iced the game for San Antonio. If he had made either attempt, then Rozier never would have had a chance to tie the game in the first place. Anderson tweeted out his gratitude to Scott after the victory:
Put aside Anderson's issues at the charity stripe, and he had an otherwise great game Saturday. The former UCLA Bruin led the Spurs with 21 points on 8-of-16 shooting. He added five rebounds, one assist and one steal as well.
The 21-year-old is one of those players who might be in line to assume a bigger role with his NBA team. Anderson played only 358 regular-season minutes last year but has obviously helped himself a lot in Vegas this summer.
On the other side, the Celtics will be encouraged by R.J. Hunter's 22-point day. His plus-11 rating was also the highest of any Boston player in the defeat.
Head coach Brad Stevens has no shortage of guards from which to choose next year, but Hunter will likely see plenty of minutes once the season begins.
We can't ignore James Young's performance either. The 2014 first-round draft pick missed out on a double-double by one rebound, finishing with 16 points and nine boards. Young didn't make a great account overall for himself in Vegas, but he ended his summer league on a somewhat high note.
Hawks def. Mavericks, 91-83

The Atlanta Hawks moved on to the semifinals with a 91-83 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Saturday.
It was a strong nice offensively for the Hawks, who shot 31-of-64 from the floor as a team, including 8-of-21 from behind the arc.
Terran Petteway was a big reason for that success, missing only three of his 11 field-goal attempts. He finished with 19 points in six rebounds. Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution believes Petteway is only one of a few different wings hoping to make Atlanta's roster:
The trouble for him, at least Saturday, was the fact Glenn Robinson III wound up the game's co-leading scorer with 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting. He was also a cool 3-of-4 from three-point range. Brandon Ashley had himself a good showing as well, contributing 16 points to the winning effort.
Mike Budenholzer won't be short on options as he fills out his bench following summer league.
For the third time in the Vegas summer league, Justin Anderson scored 23 points. He also had a nice dunk in the second quarter to energize the crowd inside the Thomas and Mack Center (via NBA TV):
Speaking of dunks, MassLive.com's Jay King provided this interesting tidbit on the rookie:
Anderson has been one of the Mavs' best players in the summer league, and Dallas fans have reason to be optimistic about what he'll bring to the table in 2015-16, given everything that has happened to the team this offseason.
Suns def. Bulls, 91-84

The Chicago Bulls might be exiting the Vegas summer league, but Bobby Portis made sure to leave fans with one more taste as to what he'll bring to the court next year. The first-round draft pick registered a double-double, scoring 25 points and grabbing 15 boards.
Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix didn't go so far as to call Portis a steal already, but he certainly hinted the Bulls might have gotten lucky the power forward fell into their laps:
As well as Portis played, T.J. Warren stole the spotlight with his 31 points and six rebounds. In the Phoenix Suns' five Vegas summer league games, Warren is averaging 22.4 points a night. He's another player who looks poised for a strong sophomore campaign.
His work has caught the eye of teammate Eric Bledsoe:
Bledsoe was also likely pleased to see fellow Kentucky alumni Devin Booker and Archie Goodwin combining for 33 points in the 91-84 win. Each player also finished with two assists, while Goodwin's six rebounds slightly eclipsed Booker's four.
The Suns looked like one of those teams who might have gotten a little too good too fast last year. They had that great 2013-14 campaign, which might have set expectations unreasonably high in 2014-15.
Missing out on the playoffs was disappointing for fans in Phoenix, but Jeff Hornacek and Ryan McDonough are putting together a solid young core of talent. If Warren and either Booker or Goodwin can carry this summer league form over into next year, the Suns would have the secondary scorers to help propel a postseason push.
Pelicans def. Warriors, 100-91

It's a good thing the Golden State Warriors have that whole NBA Finals win to ensure the fanbase doesn't revolt after the Warriors' 100-91 defeat to the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday.
Golden State's bench really carried the load for the team, accounting for 59 points. Dominique Sutton led the way with 23 points, seven rebounds and two assists.
Kevon Looney had a double-double (13 PTS, 11 REB) but his 6-of-17 showing from the field certainly didn't help the team. Looney is still a work in progress, so nights like this are going to happen on occasion. The beauty of his situation is that the Warriors can let him grow without him feeling under pressure to perform immediately.
Seth Curry had an identical shooting night, but the Pelicans were plus-15 with him on the floor in large part because of his 11 made free throws, seven rebounds and five assists. You could tell Curry was high on confidence as well after he sank his only three-pointer of the game in the third quarter:
Victor Rudd's 22 points and Fuquan Edwin's 19 points off the bench also played a big role in the Pelicans' win.
The other summer league semifinal is now set as New Orleans will get Phoenix on Sunday. Not only will a number of young stars be on show in the clash, but the game pits two teams that will likely battle all year for a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
