Scottie Scheffler Defends Memorial Title, Joins Tiger as Only Golfers to Achieve Feat
Scottie Scheffler is once again the champion of the Memorial Tournament.
The world No. 1 put together an outstanding performance on Sunday to win the event for the second year in a row, becoming the only golfer besides Tiger Woods to defend a win at the Memorial Tournament. He finished 10-under par in the win, with the second-place finisher, Ben Griffin, finishing four strokes behind him.
The win marks Scheffler's third win in four tournaments after he won the CJ Cup and the PGA Championship last month. Fans had high praise as he continued his dominance in 2025.
In typical Scheffler fashion, he stayed consistent for most of the tournament to pick up the win. He carded a pair of bogeys but picked up four birdies in the first round before adding five more birdies in Round 2 to shake off a bogey and a double bogey.
In Round 3, Scheffler avoided any bogeys and picked up four birdies to move to give him plenty of momentum heading into the final round. He stayed strong on Sunday, posting three birdies to close out the weekend and get the win.
With three wins already, Scheffler is well on his way to defending his crown as the FedEx Cup winner. He currently sits atop the FedEx Cup standings.
Up next for Scheffler is the Canadian Open, followed by the U.S. Open, where he'll have the chance to win his third different major tournament. Scheffler's best finish at the U.S. Open came in 2022 when he finished second.
