Of course, the SEC has some of the best players in the country as well. A good amount of them will be off to the MLB this summer.
The top pitching prospect in the 2025 MLB draft as well as some of the top collegiate bats in the 2025 draft class reside in the SEC and will be on full display throughout the NCAA tournament.
The full regional weekend schedule can be found here on NCAA.com.
Players to Watch
Liam Doyle, LHP, Tennessee
Liam Doyle is the best pitching prospect in the NCAA tournament.
The Tennessee left-hander was projected as the No. 2 overall pick in the latest mock draft from ESPN.com's Kiley McDaniel.
Doyle needs to be the Vols' tone-setter in the Knoxville regional with three tough teams coming to town. Tennessee plays the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks on Friday and then either the Wake Forest Demon Deacons or Cincinnati Bearcats on Saturday.
Doyle didn't have the best SEC tournament. He could draw motivation from his poor outing in Hoover, Alabama as a driving force for a strong NCAA tournament.
The junior southpaw owns a 3.04 ERA with a 9-3 record, 142 strikeouts and a .182 batting average against.
Doyle will be asked to slow down a strong offense, no matter who he faces this weekend, and if Tennessee advances, his pitching could be a major reason why.
Wehiwa Aloy, SS, Arkansas
Wehiwa Aloy is one of the best sluggers in college baseball.
The Arkansas shortstop is batting .353 with 18 home runs and 58 RBIs.
Aloy is a projected first-round pick. McDaniel mocked him to No. 13 in his last projection.
Aloy should be front and center during any Arkansas rally at the Fayetteville regional, which the Razorbacks are expected to run through.
First up for Arkansas is a clash with the North Dakota State Bison on Friday, a matchup that sets up well for the Hogs' bats.
Aloy has the potential to be the top performer at the plate throughout the entire tournament, and if he continues to hit at his current rate, the Hogs have a strong chance to make it to Omaha.
Ike Irish, C/OF, Auburn
Pure power comes off the bat of Ike Irish.
The projected first-round pick carries a 1.130 OPS, .352 batting average and 16 home runs into regional weekend.
Irish is Auburn's most dangerous hitter and he is expected to come up with multiple big hits during the Auburn regional.
Auburn got a fairly easy draw with two mid-major programs and the NC State Wolfpack coming to town.
The No. 4 overall seed has the potential to put up a ton of runs, a good amount of which will come off the bat of its top slugger.
