US Women's Open Golf 2025 Tee Times, Dates, TV Schedule, LPGA Prize Money

Kristopher KnoxMay 28, 2025

The second major of the 2025 women's golf season is nearly upon us. A little more than a month after Mao Saigo won the Chevron Championship, some of the world's best golfers will face off in the U.S. Women's Open.

This year will bring the 80th iteration of the tournament and will be played, for the first time, at Erin Hills Golf Course in Wisconsin.

2024 winner Yuka Saso will look to become the eighth golfer to successfully defend a title at the U.S. Women's Open, though she'll need to overcome an extremely talented field to do so. This year's tournament is set to feature top competitors like Jeeno Thitikul, Nelly Korda, Lydia Ko and Minjee Lee.

Here, you'll find an early preview of the 80th U.S. Women's Open, along with scheduling and prize pool information.

Erin Hill will provide the backdrop for the second major of the 2025 season. While the course, which first opened in 2006, might not be too familiar to casual golf fans. However, it has already hosted some significant tournamentsโ€”including the 2008 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links, the 2011 U.S. Amateur and the 2017 U.S. Open.

The lengthy, links-style course will feature a par of 72 and should provide fans with some breathtaking views throughout the weekend.

As previously mentioned, Saso is looking to repeat as champion and win the third U.S. Open of her career. She won last year after previously winning the 2021 tournament. Those are, to this point, the only two LPGA wins of Saso's career.

"I think I really wanted it," Saso said after last year's victory, per Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "...Not just to get a second win but also to prove something to myself. I haven't won in two and a half or three years. I definitely had a little doubt if I can win again or if I won't win again."

Battling Saso will be stars like Korda, Thitikul and Koโ€”who stand at Nos. 1-3, respectively, in the world golf rankings.

Should Ko, Yani Tseng or Anna Nordqvist win the U.S. Open, it would mark the fourth different major of her career.

We may not see a finish quite as wild as Saigo's victory in a five-way playoff at the Chevron. However, the U.S. Open should be a hotly-contested, thrilling tournament that fans will enjoy. In addition to the $12 million prize purse, points for the Race to CME Globe will be on the line, with the winner claiming 650.

The next major on the 2025 calendar will be the Women's PGA Championship, scheduled for June 19-22 at PGA Frisco.
