Reviewing Top Experts' 2025 MLB Mock Drafts Ahead of College Baseball Regionals

Joe TanseyMay 26, 2025

The top players in college baseball only have a few games left to impress Major League Baseball scouts.

A majority of the top collegiate prospects will be on display during regional weekend of the NCAA tournament, which begins on Friday with 64 teams spread across 16 different sites.

Some of the best pitchers in college baseball, like Tennessee's Liam Doyle, could flood the top 10 of the 2025 MLB draft based on the recent mock drafts.

Most of the top bats in the draft class come from the high-school level, but there are a few college hitters in the mix for top-10 picks as well.

Liam Doyle, LHP, Tennessee

Tennessee v Arkansas

The Athletic's Keith Law ranked Liam Doyle as the No. 2 player in the draft class behind high-school infielder Ethan Holliday, the younger brother of Orioles infielder Jackson Holliday.

ESPN.com's Kiley McDaniel projected Doyle would be the No. 4 overall pick to the Colorado Rockies in his latest mock draft.

The southpaw will likely be off the board in the top five and there's a good chance he is the first pitcher selected.

Doyle enters the regional round with a 9-3 record, 3.04 ERA and a .182 batting average against.

Tennessee is one of the 16 regional hosts. The Vols are expected to at least make it through to next weekend's super regional round.

If that's the case, Doyle will have two more starts to confirm his status in the 2025 draft class.

Jamie Arnold, LHP, Florida State

Florida State v Wake Forest

Florida State's Jamie Arnold is competing with Doyle to be the first pitcher taken off the board.

Arnold went second to the Los Angeles Angels in McDaniel's recent mock and he's the No. 3 prospect on Law's big board.

The Florida State lefty has a 20-10 career record across three seasons with the Seminoles.

He posted a 3.04 ERA and opposing hitters had a .207 batting average against him in the regular season.

Like Doyle, Arnold will pitch at home in the regional round and should have two more starts left, at minimum, in his collegiate career, as long as FSU controls its home-field advantage.

Aiva Arquette, SS, Oregon State

Aiva Arquette is the top collegiate hitter on most draft boards.

Law ranked the Oregon State shortstop as the No. 4 overall player in the draft class, while McDaniel projected him to go eighth to the Toronto Blue Jays.

Arquette, a transfer from Washington, improved all of his offensive numbers during his lone season in Corvallis.

Arquette hit .348 with a 1.149 OPS, 17 home runs and 60 RBIs.

He is the centerpiece of an Oregon State lineup that will play at home during the regional round.

Arquette likely won't be the top hitter in the entire draft class selected because of the options available from the prep ranks, but there's a good chance he is the first hitter from the collegiate level chosen.
