Jake Paul Thinks Tommy Fury Rematch Fight Will Happen in 'Next 12 Months'
As he continues his ascent in the sport of boxing, Jake Paul is hoping to avenge the lone loss on his record.
During his appearance on Monday's episode o The Ariel Helwani Show, Paul said he expects to have a rematch against Tommy Fury "in the next 12 months."
"I just can't wait to get back in there with this guy, Paul told Helwani. "I fought him after two years of being a pro boxer, now it's been 3 years since then and it's just night and day, and he hasn't gotten any better."
Fury defeated Paul by split decision in February 2023. Since then, the YouTuber has won five straight fights to improve to 11-1, including a victory over Mike Tyson in November. Paul will face Julio César Chávez Jr. on June 28.
Fury failed to capitalize off his win over Paul, fighting only twice since then with a win over KSI in October 2023 and a win against Kenan Hanjalic earlier this month.
Paul made it clear that for a rematch to happen, Fury "has to be realistic about what he's worth." He called out his drawing power and noted that he has a slew of options beyond him if negotiations don't go well.
"I have 10 names waiting to fight me in multiple different sports, MMA, boxing, all this stuff," Paul said. "These people just have to be realistic about what they're wanting to get paid, and Tommy isn't."
