Nike Air Jordan 11Lab4 'University Red' Release Date, Pics and Retail Price
Two months after releasing the Air Jordan 11Lab4, Nike is set to drop perhaps the most coveted version of the shoes, "University Red." While the base style is a clean, retro look with black and white, this is more of a standout edition.
One question when going all-in on a single color is whether the lack of contrast will hurt the overall look. For example, the white soles on the original release were a nice touch. That said, the University Red works well and it's going to turn heads thanks to its bold, bright color.
Here's are the complete release details, via Darren Griffin of Nice Kicks:

The all-red look is certainly popular right now. When you combine that with the Air Jordan 11 patent leather and the overall appeal of the Jordan brand, it's no surprise this will probably be one of the hottest releases of the summer.
Nike Chicago showcased the complete package:
One facet that's really going to make the shoe special is the shine. It's not an over-the-top gloss that makes them gaudy, but instead there's just enough radiance to attract attention. While that's a hard balance to strike, it really works here.
Sneaker News passed along a shot that really shows that off:
Although it's the color and shine that's going to catch the eye, the shoe also has a lot of detail, too. From the dual Jumpman logos and the side patterns right down to the stitching, it should give the design lasting appeal beyond the initial cool factor.
Sole Collector provided a closer look at some of the intricacies:
Ultimately, it's a nice complement to the standard Air Jordan 11Lab4. In many cases when releases fall under the same umbrella it's a choice between the designs. Here it's possible to have both and wear them in different situations because the looks are markedly different.
Kicks On Fire illustrated how they look when someone is wearing them:
All told, there's not much to dislike about the shoe. Some people may not love the all-red approach or think it's starting to reach a saturation point, but the buzz suggests the look remains in vogue and it's easy to see why.
The University Red is a great design with a terrific look. In turn, the release should possess appeal beyond Nike or Jordan brand collectors.
