
Jose Luis Ballester Urinates in Rae's Creek During 2025 Masters Opening Round
Jose Luis Ballester took an unusual bathroom break in the opening round of the 2025 Masters on Thursday.
Ballester explained that he forgot there were bathrooms near the tee box on the 13th hole and relieved himself at the the tributary to Rae's Creek, per ESPN's Dave Wilson.
"I'm like, I really need to pee," Ballester said, via Wilson. "Didn't really know where to go, and since JT had an issue on the green, I'm like, I'm just going to sneak here in the river and probably people would not see me that much."

The 21-year-old finished the first round with a four-over 76.
Ballester, who was paired with Scottie Scheffler and Justin Thomas, revealed that he wasn't bothered by the attention he received for the incident.
"It was not embarrassing at all for me," Ballester said, per Wilson. "If I had to do it again, I would do it again."
He struggled to begin his first Masters appearance, carding two bogeys and a triple bogey through the opening five holes. Ballester looked much more sharp on the back nine, finishing with one bogey and one birdie.
The Arizona State senior punched his ticket to the Masters with a 2024 U.S. Amateur victory at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Aug. 2024. He became the first Spaniard to lift the Havemeyer Trophy.
Ballester has three finishes within the top five during his current college season, which includes a win in the Fighting Illini Invitational and a runner-up result in the Sahalee Players Championship.
He'll be paired with Scheffler and Thomas again on Friday following his unique bathroom break, looking to build upon his first-round score.
