Jason Bohn headlined Round 3 with an astounding nine-under 61 on Saturday afternoon. He shot 10 birdies on the day, with a bogey on 11 as his only blemish, as he sits at 11 under overall. The PGA Tour took a look at some of Bohn's day:
His huge performance moved him up 61 spots and into a share of the lead entering Sunday. ESPN.com's Jason Sobel discovered Bohn's incentive for having such a big day:
It was a dream afternoon for Bohn as everything was working for him. He was well over the tournament average with an 80.95 driving-accuracy percentage while hitting just under 76 percent of his greens.
Joining Bohn in a tie for first is Sean O'Hair, S.J. Park and Bryce Molder. O'Hair and Park shot four under on the day, while Molder, who started Saturday tied for third at eight under par, went three under in Round 3. The PGA Tour showed the putt that tied him for the lead:
Another big mover on the day was David Lingmerth. He jumped up 41 spots by shooting a six-under 64 to go nine under on the tournament. He sits in a tie for ninth entering Sunday.
Friday's co-leaders, though, did not have such a good Saturday at Greenbrier.
Scott Langley shot a four-over 74 to drop him to five under par. He went from tied for first to tied for 40th. The PGA Tour caught a glimpse of one of his lowest points during his round:
The other co-leader, Jhonattan Vegas, went six over, now tied for 62nd at three under overall. Going two over on the front nine, Vegas recorded three consecutive bogeys from the 11th to 13th holes and adding one more on the 15th.
Four strokes off Vegas' lead yesterday, Tiger Woods did not have as bad a day, but he still dropped in the standings. Woods shot a one-over on the day, raising his overall score to four over, which puts him in a tie for 47th.
The way there have been such dramatic swings in scoring over the past few days at Greenbrier, it's safe to say that this tournament is wide-open going into the final round on Sunday. After such a successful day, it looks like Bohn has shown mastery of the course. He might only need to have half as good a day Sunday to win, but the more consistent golfers such as Molder will be right there to mount a challenge.
