The devastating news of the death of Adelaide Crows coach Phil Walsh, first reported by Michael Ramsey of the Advertiser, has brought Australia to a standstill this morning as members of every sporting community express their disbelief and sadness.
The loss of such a popular and well-regarded man was always likely to be a devastating blow, but the circumstances of his death have, if possible, made it resonate even louder.
The South Australian Police confirmed in a statement this morning that Walsh's son had been arrested and charged with murder.
