Peter Oosterhuis, Former British Golfer, Reveals He Has Early Onset Alzheimer's
Former professional golfer and retired CBS golf analyst Peter Oosterhuis has been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's disease.
In a YouTube video uploaded by Golf Digest, Oosterhuis and his wife Roothie decided to make public his diagnosis.
"As human beings, it took awhile to come back to ourselves," Roothie said. "But now, even though we don't like the cards we were dealt, we are ready to play them. Because we are basically happy people, and we can still have happiness."

According to the Associated Press (via the New York Times), Oosterhuis said he was diagnosed in July 2014 and that he and his wife decided not to tell anyone at that time.
The 67-year-old won 18 professional tournaments in his career, including one on the PGA Tour at the 1981 Canadian Open. He moved to the broadcast booth after his playing days, working for the Golf Channel, CBS and BBC in 20 years before retiring last January.
