Beal Active vs. Pistons

Saturday, Nov. 21

The Wizards announced Beal will return tonight.

Beal Undergoes X-rays

Sunday, Nov. 8

"Beal spent a considerable amount of time in the trainers’ room after the game and didn’t appear to move his left arm as he briefly walked through the locker room," reported Castillo. "He underwent X-rays but the team didn’t have an update Saturday, a team spokesman said."

Beal Unable to Shake Injury Woes During Career

Beal is currently averaging 22.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He averaged 15.3 points per game in 2014-15 and shot 40.9 percent from three-point range. He helps spread the floor when John Wall attacks the basket off the dribble and Marcin Gortat attracts extra attention in the post.

While Beal is a fantastic player and spearheads the Washington attack along with Wall, he is an injury risk anytime he steps on the floor. He missed a combined 54 games in the first three seasons of his career and inspired this reaction from ESPN’s Jeff Goodman:

Castillo noted that Beal actually fell on his left wrist prior to the collision with Teague and "stayed on the floor in pain for several seconds but didn't exit the game."

Any time Beal is injured and off the floor is devastating to Washington’s championship hopes. He and Wall are the two players on the team who consistently create their own shot off the dribble, and he also provides critical shooting from beyond the arc.

The Wizards are undoubtedly hopeful Beal finds a way to shake the injury bug for the remainder of the season.
