Kevin Durant Injury Update: Twitter Reacts to Star's Season-Ending Foot Surgery
The Oklahoma City Thunder announced Friday superstar forward Kevin Durant is going to miss the rest of the 2014-15 season because of a foot injury that's going to require surgery.
Durant has been sidelined for over a month due to the ailment. He originally tried to start gearing up his basketball activity, but the team shut him down after he failed to make notable progress. Now, the Thunder have decided to end his season and get the problem completely fixed.

Jason McIntyre of The Big Lead is already looking forward to 2016:
After some hope Durant would be able to make a triumphant return ahead of the playoffs, this is obviously a sobering day for the Thunder. Guard Russell Westbrook has been outstanding, but if they do qualify for the postseason, not having a top-tier scorer is clearly a major setback.
Based on the initial timetable, Durant should be back on the court working out in late September at the latest. That would leave enough time for him to get ready for the start of next season. That's all assuming there are no setbacks, though.
As much as it's a loss for Oklahoma City, it's also a disappointment for the NBA and its fans.
